But it depends on how much you are willing to believe in coincidences to. For example, I don't believe in the whole moon landing being faked by Stanley Kubrick like some people do. But if evidence came out about that the that the heads of NASA had communications with Stanley Kubrick around the same...

I never got a why when people brought up such a consipiracy theory, at least not that I recall. However, it is a huge coincidental development now that the guy accused of helping to create the virus is now sharing emails with the guy who conspiracy theorists believe is wanting to create the vaccine...

Also, progressives outnumber social democrats who outnumber democratic socialists who outnumber libertarian socialists who outnumber tankies. The tankies aren't much of a threat politically, they don't have the numbers to be meaningful. Psst! It's the same on the right, the actual Nazi adjacent typ...

But what is it about the constitution that is possibly being construed differently when it comes to covid? Nothing, but it's a common canard for some folks to trot out that the people who putting public safety over what they perceive as their rights are anti-constitution even if their understanding...

Oh okay. Well how come in the US, the democrats seem to be anti-constitution then, if that's the case? They aren't anti-Constitution, they just have a different understanding of what it means. Just like some Christians will understand a particular passage in the Bible differently from other Christi...

I base my understandings of what motivates the far-right communities I've spent time interacting with people in on time spent hearing or reading people expressing their ideas in detail. I don't discount that on some platforms there's a lot of shitposting; I also am aware that these people are ideol...

Is teaching history accurately ideological indoctrination? People losing their minds over OMG MY KID WILL LEARN ABOUT RACISM are entitled to express that view but it doesn't mean their grievance is legitimate. Educating those people is a more appropriate response than amplifying their (often uninfo...

In all fairness, that's like asking to talk about what's so great about Lincoln without the context of the Civil War. So you're saying you can't name anything particularly great about Biden without the Trump comparison? I mean, my position on him is that he's a terminal mediocrity whose only sellin...

Sorry, that's what it looks like from where I'm standing. Maybe that one issue isn't the core of it, but more broadly a lot of it seems to be some people are upset that social norms are changing and that groups of people they view with contempt are now often treated with as much dignity as they are...

How many years ago was it when the kids were still saying woke? Now it's just people like Tucker Carlson using it as a synonym for what they used to call political correctness but mostly amounts to not being able to use slurs and having to respect other people's basic dignity. How does the prevalen...

I'm not trying to make a positive case, I'm just pointing out that Rufo and similar rely on dishonestly portraying a topic and reducing it to buzzwords to present their case which is largely an appeal to emotion and grievance. If that's what resonates with you, that's nice but I'm not going to pret...

Overall I agree, the same people who are most hostile to the overton window shifting don't bother to understand what they're complaining about in much detail, all sorts of terms basically get turned into nothing more than snarlwords for stuff they're sure they should hate. Kinda like what you're tr...

Aren't the only people still using the term woke conservative boomers in response to realizing they're out of touch? Example: Stupid woke culture, all I did was insist on misgendering my grandkid repeatedly... I don't think boomers even make much of a distinction, it's just all stupid millennial st...
