Reading all these things about offended feelings i come to conclusion that empathy nowadays is a severe mental illness. No. It's more like assholism has become an epidemic. Internet anonymity has breed the culture of bullying assholery that got Trump elected. There is no such thing as internet anon...

Not to mention no power or running water

Food spoils quickly in hot climates. Stores have run out of fuel for their generators.

Exactly! And while the citizens remain distracted, rooting for their team and trashing the other, they fail to understand that both teams are funded by the oligarchs, who continue to carve up more of the pie for themselves.

Plenty of people are plenty aware.

The hard right seems to attract people with a deficit of empathy and compassion. Trump is like the god of the new sociopathic hard right. It's a disturbing trend that's just getting worse and worse.

Many of us voted for Trump because he was (still is) seen as the lesser evil, not out of blind devotion, hero worship, or love. This has been gone over countless times. In other words.... vote for a blatantly horrible person because... ideology. Unless just out of "ideology" you pissed aw...

A left-wing candidate would be much less likely to win than a centrist. You know as well as I do that if Bernie had won the nomination (which he couldn't even manage) he would have been slaughtered by independents and wouldn't have won the Republican crossover votes that Hillary managed. Thanks to ...

i think it means that political/economic systems look good on paper because they don't often take into account basic human nature and greed, which is a pretty big reason they suck in practice. Yep, that's it. I have seen/heard political science people and economic people say that, then define the s...

I love how Venezuala is always the standard bearer for socialism by the right Absolutely this. People who point at Venezuela and shout 'socialism' as an example of what all social democratic systems MUST be like remind me of the people who seem to feel the need to link all political conversations, ...

As I read and understand rape laws in the UK and the US, it specifically involves a phallus' forceable entry into a vagina. My problem is that I do not understand how a phallus, exclusively erect from sexual excitement, could remain so and actually "complete the act" without this exciteme...

To be honest, I don't trust western media reports on Venezuela anymore. When talking about the authoritarianism of the government, there is never any mention of the constant contempt for democracy and violence dished out by the wealthy elites since Chavez first took office in 1998. No mention of the...

This is precisely why I'm not a conservative. Life throws enough responsibilities at me. Religion adds more responsibilities on top of that. Why would I want to deliberately make my life harder? It's a different kind of responsibility, a moral responsibility and a hope that your neighbours will fol...
