Something most people take in their stride? What about people here though? Are you a methodical packer? My stepdaughter takes me grocery shopping. She packs the stuff for me at the checkout. I 'd just put stuff randomly in a bag until it was full up. She's more methodical. I'd get flustered and all ...

I'm not at all convinced that pdocs are as good at spotting that their patients may be autistic as the survey suggests. The whiff of BS is quite strong.

Scottish law has a verdict of 'Not proven' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Not_proven I would suggest that fits here as to the veracity or not of the woman being asked to cancel an order. We live in age where people will scam, but equally so we live in an age where people will manipulate things to dis...

According to the charity Autistica, 80% of autistic people will experience mental health difficulties in their lifetime, making mental illness far more common in autistic individuals compared to non-autistic people. It is therefore likely that psychiatrists will have autistic people on their caselo...

I've come across several people suggesting it was a scam . If so there's been little in the way of media articles saying so. Perhaps if it was a scam, piggybacking off autism for personal gain is seen as ok behaviour. I would have expected at least some sites run by people with ASD to have denounced...

There are many reasons why someone can legitimately ask for a refund: if the item is faulty, if the item is the wrong size, if the item was ordered while drunk (though many retailers don't accept the validity of this reason). However, asking for a refund based on the fact the seller is autistic is ...

I’m thick. Just been trying to suss how to put my braces on for myself . I thought I’d try fitting my braces by laying my trousers back side up and clipping to my trousers then I’d put my trousers on and clip at the front. Only trouble is the clips keep coming off at the back before I can even put m...

I was at an English public school from 13 to 18. I was subjected to a lot of verbal bullying . I had no friends. The catalyst for the bullying? Being honest and open about my lack of knowledge and experience about sex while the other boys were boasting about what they knew. That straight off marked ...

While the IQ> adaptive functioning gap is acknowledged to quite a degree with ASD, It's not acknowledged to any such degree by professionals if you're just seen to have a mental illness. It's a case of your level of functioning= your level of IQ . No, Tony Attwood talks about this. He actually says...

Part of the support I need is someone making sure I brush my teeth and even assisting me with it. I've never had such support, probably because it's reckoned that a person of reasonable intelligence would just automatically know to do so. The thinking being I've just got an aversion to brushing my t...
