If given the option to "cure" myself, I would not, in spite of the fact that I at times feel alienated due to being autistic and not being able to naturally connect with others easily. At the same time, like I have seen some others mention, I adore the fact that my brain works in such a ma...

Hmm, interesting. I can see from your perspective why you'd want such a film to exist. I've never heard anyone say that they believe autistic people have some sort of simplified singular concept of sexuality and relationships. I've never really heard many people say much about autism at all, really...

What is it that autistic voices have to say about lgbt things? What is it that lgbt people have to say about asd things? Not really seeing what it is that you think asd/lgbt people need to say differently about these topics. I personally feel that, as I have stated in my original post, that it's as...

Not sure I'd get much out of watching something like that, tbh. Not really sure what the value would be in it, either. Why? I mean, I'm a very HFA gay man and already know from my 24/7 life's experience what being both is all about. I also have met enough aspies to know we're all different from one...

Basically... Growing too close to people due to having had negative experiences with them in the past, in spite of craving for social interaction. It's a difficult paradox to live with.

Just trying to connect with others is excruciating, no matter how much I may crave it. I want to befriend others, yet I have little more than bad memories with friendships in the past that dissolved for a myriad of painful reasons. I don't want to isolate myself, but I am so afraid of getting close ...

I do it so that others have a comprehensive understanding as to what autism is, and to show that yes, autistic people can assimilate among dominant society with the proper support. If someone asks that I briefly explain what autism is in general, specifically what Asperger's syndrome is, I am more t...

I appear to express little to no emotion on my contour, yet in reality, I am either screaming in terror or sadness or squealing with pure delight inside. Expressing my feelings is tremendously-difficult because of the fact that I practically have no one to talk to, hence why I either write it out in...

Over the past few months, I was thinking about what it would be like if a director were to make a film focusing on LGBT people on the autism spectrum. I feel that limited gender and sexuality discussions are had within the broader autism community, solely because-- and this is just my assumption-- i...

Poetry is my liberation because I seldom speak, and I can express myself on a much-deeper level than I can via verbal communication. It really is a beautiful art form.

My brain works in that I "test the waters" so to speak when dealing with other people: I often bring up something pertaining to one of my special interests (such as philosophy, psychology, sociology, anthropology, ect.) so as to "test" them to see if the other party expresses sim...

Has anyone on this site ever taken an AP course in high school? I am sure that many people will know what they are: they are subjects whose curricula are established by the College Board, and are essentially college-level courses taught in a high school environment; if one obtains a score of a 3 or ...

Raised Roman Catholic, but I now consider myself to be a pantheist. I do have respect for the World's various religions and for religious people, yet I do not particularly like those who attempt forcing me to believe in their religion, whether I know them personally or not. Organized religion just i...
