I think I want to identify as one! The reason why I was asking is because it's hard to relate to most other people on the spectrum. However, I definitely have aspergers, it does show up in my daily life (even though I manage disguise it as being awkward and "highly interested in unique things&q...

I just wondered if you have ever felt the need to stim youself? I find it very helpful in controlling anxiety and calming down from sensory overload. So, from my point of view I think there is a lot of good in stimming but it can problematic in public because of the way the general public can react...

- Aspies don't enjoy writing, particularly if it's creative writing such as poetry - Aspies, in all of their social oblivion, aren't concerned with social or human rights issues in spite of not consistently speaking - Aspies read a strict diet of nonfiction (I suit this one to some extent, although...

Short answer: yes, it is OK. The aspie police won't be knocking on your door. You have the freedom to embrace whatever the hell you want. Long answer: You remind me of myself, actually. I have very mild aspergers (that used to be a lot worse) and, while I'm awkward and social rules doesn't come nat...

I wasn't trying to say that Aspies are losers, nor that they think of themselves that way, but rather that in social settings NTs often wrongfully think of aspies as "losers".

ID meaning intellectually disabled. I have very minor aspergers, and have a high IQ. I am fretting over the idea that my future child will have very severe autism because I biologically have the trait. Does my very mild form of HFA increase the chance that a child of mine would have severe autism? A...

When I was 4, I was diagnosed with aspergers and adhd, and showed all the normal symptoms except for language loss (eg. hypersensitivity, awkwardness, eye contact, stimming, difficulty navigating social situations, mixed IQ [gifted verbally/a few other things, not-so-good processing speed, hyperacti...

While yes, I like it when people try and help me, I hate it when people present me as weak. Statements like "bullies pick on those weaker than them", or "those with Aspergers aren't charismatic", or "people with Apergers are more sensitive to things than everyone else"....

It's a really good way to cope with the fact that I'm awkward. When I say something stupid, don't immediately understand sarcasm, or tell a crappy joke, normally people would give me a bad reaction. However, when I laugh at myself and say something like "yeah, I shouldn't have said that" o...
