I don't think the GOP can ever go back to the days of Eisenhower and Nelson Rockefeller (who deserved wayyy more respect). Yet this is the only way they could stay relevant.
And now, even if they did become a much more socially liberal party, they will forever be known as the party of Trump and 1/6. |
