I have just got off the phone for a call I couldn't get out of; as it was about personal details with a company. (They wouldn't accept my partner in my behalf, damn.) Even though it is never as bad as I'm expecting this doesn't seem to help for future calls. I don't know why I can't do it, it just m...

For me, it feels like internal panic. Sounds seem louder, I can't concentrate, I start breathing faster. I also become non verbal.

I have times where I cannot speak, but it feels more like I have lost the complete ability to speak. I have no urge to reply or really any feeling of my mouth being there; as weird as that sounds. Ha! It is also accompanied by a sort of dazed? or withdrawn feeling?, I'm not sure how to describe it. ...

Everyone has things that they struggle at, and things they excel at, things that they are born with or develop. It's just a part of life, to make mistakes and to struggle sometimes. That's true, but to varying degrees. Some people struggle to take care of themselves, some simply can't. Other people...

I have always wanted children, although with my ASD diagnosis I cut down on how many I wanted simply because I know that I would not be able to handle more. I have a 4 year old daughter and have been trying to #2 for around 7 months now. That's my limit. I think the main reason I wanted children was...

A nutella sandwich (yes, I'm aware of the palm oil, nutella is the only thing I eat with palm oil in it, because it's delicious.) Although I did also have a coconut curry an hr ago.

My partner who is completely supportive and who has been a huge help, sometimes will say things like this. I always call them out on it, but it seems that they don't realise they are doing it. I'm not hurt by it or anything, they are trying to help me work out my triggers and such, but sometimes can...

I can't trust my family with my ASD either. My partner is extremely supportive, my daughter is only 4 so her knowledge is limited but I try to explain things to her the best I can and she really is accommodating when I can't do something. I haven't told my parents or siblings. They just wouldn't bel...

No, I don't. Everyone should be treated respectfully no matter who they are though.(Race,gender,disability,etc.) Everyone has things that they struggle at, and things they excel at, things that they are born with or develop. It's just a part of life, to make mistakes and to struggle sometimes. In a ...

I would adopt, but the only thing about that is I wouldn't be able to breastfeed, and I'd love to breastfeed. Breasts only develop milk if you get pregnant. Adoptive mother's can (and do) breastfeed, most won't get a full supply (unless they have breastfed before) but there are medications to induc...

you should never watch a bob ross video. I have to turn his videos up quite loud to make them bearable as I love both painting and Bob Ross. :P I HATE whispering, it makes the hair on my neck stand up and I flinch away. My daughter loves to whisper to me and I have accidentally yelled at her before...

Can I ask you something? As autists I know we're not exactly social butterflies, but at the same time everyone needs some sort of social contact. I found about about this one defense mechanism recently called "autistic fantasy"; it's basically where someone will immerse themselves in a fa...

I have read a few different posts about this topic, it's quite interesting. For the past 6months or so I've been trying to improve my gut health, and have noticed my ASD symptoms do "improve" when I'm being proactive towards my health. Our diets today also lack fermented foods, which help ...

I have enjoyed reading everyone's answers. I was always accused of lying, mainly by my parents. It was extremely frustrating because I would never lie, but then it got to the point where I felt that it didn't matter if I lied or not; they would think that I was, so I did start lying more. (For whate...
