money is too hard for me to come by, to send it wafting up in smoke. that said, i wonder what is the problem with just taking the nicotine sans tobacco, aside from patches for quitters why not make the nicotine available by itself? No problem. You can get nicotine in various forms. I stopped smokin...

the difference can lie in the way you answer the questions; i have done several tests on a few tests to try this out. if i answer from the 'internal' me, or how i feel, i score in the top-levels of AS; but if i answer from the 'external' me, how i act, i get a low score, that makes me only slightly...

Where does the conception of autistic people not being able to do public speaking come from? I thought that would be social anxiety that would cause an impairment for someone to do public speaking. Mystery to me. I'm autistic and I can speak in public, whereas I wet my pants at a party filled with ...

I read, somewhere, that she was diagnosed around that time. I remember this vividly. I'm not 100% sure of the year. I don't have time to look for the source right now. I'm at work. If she was diagnosed in Europe under the ICD-10, she could still be diagnosed with Asperger's. Why do you think she wo...

Food allergies, GERD, IBS if I eat wheat (but not celiac, tests have been negative), lactose intolerance -- perhaps the cause of the frequent stomach aches I had as a child?

I did the Cambridge Face Memory Test: Thank you for taking part in this experiment. Your accuracy in the experiment was: 90% 8O The average score on this test is around 80% correct responses for adult participants. A score of 60% or below may indicate face blindness. In the last experiments where t...

I am a little better at music, I can think up music but find it very hard to realise, its like I have to fumble and search for the notes before it leaves my head, wish I could just play what I am thinking (probably learning proper theory would help with that). I share your frustration with that. Co...

Forget what my score was on the test but I have it too. Not the most severe kind -- I can recognize friends and family -- but if it's someone i know incidentally, like someone at a doctor's office or a friend of my stepmother, I can't recognize them out of context. It makes for some very awkward enc...

Oh yes, big time. I started saying my first words at six months, and then stopped talking and couldn't talk until I was three or four. Instead, I communicated with sign language. As an adult, I can be rendered mute by a psychologist, with a simple suggestion -- and then I know I can talk but I just ...

I think the bottom line is that we're all different. On the Aspie Quiz, for example, I score very highly on autistic talent and perception, but also pretty high on neurotypical talent and perception; whereas my social and relationship scores, are almost entirely autistic. In practice, I don't have p...

I re read the OP Smoking can calm folks down whether NT or AS. Which at first is weird since it is in the amphetamine class 2 things might be happening 1 is that some meds affect people differently. Most get munchies or calm on weed. A few get the opposite - not hungry and aggressive. The second is...
