I'd say a rule would be to talk about 2-3 sentences and reciprocate socially by asking about them or ask them to elaborate something. People do not want a whole wikipedia article response if they ask you something. Generally people will ask if they want to know more, and even then they could just b...

Hi. So I haven't been here for a long time, but things have changed. I'm in a new city and under more stress. But the main thing about this is how does one remember to have two-sided conversations? For me, I always remember when i first am getting to know someone, as I have learned that people like ...

Test taken August 10th 2017 Total score: 161 Language: 16 Social Relatedness: 80 Sensory/motor: 27 Circumscribed interests: 38 Some of them I am unsure how to answer, but I realize some are based on stereotype answers. Like, not being held/hug for me, is quite the opposite. I want to hug or be held ...

Are you able to get official testing? This would help with a lot of self doubt or guessing. Generally speaking, a big gap between the two is a sign of NVLD. But there are other symptoms like poor social skills, clumsiness because of seeing objects too close/far, poor fine motor skills. Those symptom...

When I was two. I did see a speech therapist I think to see why I wouldn't talk. But I just suddenly talked in full sentences one day. Not sure why. Had a lot of problems with English/language in elementary school because of this delay.

I don't actually have a big discrepancy between my verbal and performance IQ. My verbal IQ is 106 and performance is 102. My results are pretty recent too. So I don't really fit either autism or Aspergers in this sense anyways.

I have fine motor skill issues, though it is most noticeable through my writing. My teachers make me either type my responses or have me read it out to them. I can write neatly, but it takes an extremely long time.

Personally, I wouldn't say so. I did official testing and was told I have (immediate) visual memory problems, and I ended up with a learning disorder - nos diagnosis. I did see briefly the psychologist's notes on what she thought I had and NVLD was on her mind, though I don't have it. My performance...

Ah, thank you so much. That cleared up a lot of my questions. I can relate to pretty much everything you wrote. I think you helped me bump up my "sureness" to 99.98%. I'll take your advice and print one of those out for her. I really appreciate that your response was so thought-out. Thank...

Here's the DSM V criteria for autism: Persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction across multiple contexts, as manifested by the following, currently or by history (examples are illustrati...

I did CBT for 2 years, but my psychiatrist dropped me because I didn't find it helpful. I can't understand how positive thinking is going to change how I am. And yes, I did CBT for anxiety. I also don't see how changing my thinking is going to make my thoughts feel less dumb or stupid. I already kno...

For me, I have memory problems so the place I got my psychological assessment done at dis extensive testing on my memory. One of the things was remembering words verbally. A friend of mine developed bipolar disorder in their mid- to late- thirties. Her dad does also have it, but she showed no signs of MI until this time, when they thought it was depression at first and then the manic episode happened. She's good now though. Paranoia can be a sign of bipolar disorder, ...

So for about a month or so, I've gone into depression. I'm exhausted, have sleep problems, low mood, eating problems, the whole thing. But this was brought up by someone, and they think that I may be obsessing over my depression. I know, as my username states, my obsession is mental illnesses, and d...
