Wow, I relate to so much of what you wrote, even though I'm a good deal older than you (almost 10 years). My main emotion is still fear, despite being on anti-anxiety medication for many years. I feel like something broke the "reward" center in my brain, because I don't find joy in the thi... |

So frustrated right now. After 8+ failed attempts at therapy and some really bad experiences with some awful therapists, I finally started seeing one I really like about a month ago. Unfortunately, she is out of my insurance network. I was willing to take on the additional cost (I thought my benefit... |

So frustrated - I finally got out my old sewing machine, bought new needles, thread, feet, and other supplies I was missing. All set up, but I can't get it to work anymore. Everything seems fine, and it will sew a few stitches, but then it jams up and makes a weird buzzing noise. I disassembled all ... |

Following this thread - I really need to find less obnoxious ways to stim at work. (No one says anything, but I'm sure my leg jiggling, tongue clicking, nail biting, etc. annoy those around me.) My efforts at stopping nail biting many years ago morphed into lip chewing, which is even worse. |

Kia ora! Welcome to Wrongplanet. :) I've lost count of how many times I've heard my partner tell that sticky joke! Hope you feel at home here! So many of us struggle with socializing / friendship, I wish there was a way for us all to interact in a more real way. Interesting to hear about lying... |

Welcome to the site! I'm in a similar social situation - I live with my long term partner, and feel disconnected to / haven't kept in touch with friends I made in college. I realize people see me as "weird," although they never usually tell me that directly. Lately, I've been trying to emb... |

I feel like I'm more hard wired for polyamory / non-monogamy. None of my relationships have been monogamous. I am dealing with difficulties with this right now, though. My partner of four years (polyamorous the entire time), has been growing increasingly nervous/angry about continuing polyamory (mos... |

First glance would make it a nope for me. "Singles"? There is a lot of overlap between neurodiverse & non-monogamous communities, and this would exclude a lot of people. |

I'm having a hard time keeping up with threads, so there have probably been a bunch of situations where someone replies to me, I don't see it, and the thread dies. Wish there was a reply notification on this site (other than e-mails, I can't handle getting flooded with e-mail spam). |

That's what my question is about! What IS the "state" of being either male or female? What does that even mean, if it's not any of the things I listed in my OP? |

I remember several occasions as a child being given a disposable camera, and upsetting my mom when most of the pictures were of objects and scenery instead of people. |

My husband would agree that gender is, in fact, a social and cultural thing. It seems to me that it has to be more than that though since so many people will say that they just feel like a man or a woman. That feeling seems to be some deeper core thing, rather than a societal construct at work. May... |
