So yesterday evening I was walking onto a bridge to think about jumping off. It was my break at work. At the head of the bridge, a black cat walked out, stopped in my way, and looked at me. Because of the eye contact, mainly, I did not go onto the bridge, but followed the cat down a path to the side...

I don't feel empathy, I think it. And that's not wrong or lesser. In fact it means I have to make the conscious choice to be empathetic, so I think it at least shows I care.
