My middle school/high school teacher was extremely unqualified to teach. However, she put forth some effort in between bouts of obsessive video game playing, movie watching, and novel reading. I’ll say that much. Still, I didn’t realize that I was good at math until college. Science was a problem too.

What was your favorite class in high school or college? I thoroughly enjoyed many of my college classes, but Shakespeare was my favorite. It was just a wonderful experience that has stuck with me over the years. I also adored Classical and Victorian literature and Ancient Philosophy. Feel free to sh...

Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

I’ve been in a great mood.

For those of you who are/were blonde, did you grow up hearing dumb blonde jokes? I remember hearing them from certain family members from the time that I was very young. As a young child, my hair was long and light blonde. It’s more of a dark blonde or light brown now. When I was little, I used to s...

I’ve experienced plenty of strange, one-off behavior from men I don’t know well that baffles me, but I won’t go into that here. I think the sexes are equally complex in their emotions and motivations. I just tend to have a harder time understanding men due to socialization and primarily having femal...

I think I tend to have a harder time understanding men because they are socialized to be more guarded when it comes to expressing their emotions whereas women are often more open about that stuff. Perhaps relatedly, I also struggled to know what men’s motivations were concerning L&D at different...

I also find it frustrating when people say to “let it go” or “don’t let it bother you” type of stuff as though it’s merely a question of willpower. I just think that there’s still a major lack of understanding surrounding mental health issues. I'm seeing a counselor, and he is awesome. Unfortunately...

I live in a small town, and I don’t like it. I really enjoy doing stuff like going to museums, art galleries, and concerts. There’s nothing like that around here. My area is very conservative, so I also feel like a bit of an outsider in a PPR sense.

That sounds really frustrating. I hate having PTSD too. I tend to have rough patches with it that come and go. Sometimes it’s triggered by something. Other times, a memory just comes up that I need to process or work through. Journaling has helped with that. Of course, I tend to get caught up in neg...
