You have such lovely dogs! These are my two old men, Fudge and Finlay. Finlay (the grey one) is a soft cuddle-bunny who is very tuned-in to how I feel. Fudge, on the other hand, just wants to spend all his time eating and sleeping. Ewoks! There's a couple of Shih Tzu that we meet quite often. Lovel...

Sorry Bea. It's really hot here and I just can't handle any temperature above 15C. It makes me grumpy :(

I think you might want to change your view of how things should go for you to have a good day. You absolutely can't expect people to cede their right to share a bench or table, reading your mind and realizing you'd rather be alone. Be more assertive and stick up for what you want - while backing do...

I do relate to how you feel about solitude, sorry for not making that more clear and apologies for my mistake. No problem. I was a little hasty with my response and apologise as well :) I'm heading out to the cliffs again this afternoon, after work. This time I think I'll just sit on the grass some...

I understand that you have a personal attachment to that particular bench, she may also feel the same way about the bench too. If it happens again, maybe try moving yourself to either the fort or the other bench. I think this would have been a better solution that allowing this experience to spoil ...

I wish I got that sort of attention from strangers. Whenever I smile at dog-walkers they just scowl and turn away. It's hard to not take personally, because if I was anyone else they'd smile back or say hello. I feel complimented when I do get a stranger strike up a conversation with me, although i...

I think you were a little presumptuous. She may have not had any interest in a conversation. When she asked if she could sit down (she did not need your permission to do so but she was trying to be considerate) you could have said "Of course, but I hope you don't mind my silence." I agree...

I typically don't have conversations with those sitting next to me. A while back I was sitting at a table in a food court that sat about 8 people fairly close together. I was sitting there by myself for quite a while and at some point, two women came along and sat at the far end facing each other t...

Agree with Joe90. I can get very angry and have done since I was little. I've been trying to mitigate it for years (since a bad incident when I was 18) and am now a lot calmer than I was in my teens but it's always a struggle. I really hate it when they say people cannot change - I'm proof that you ...

Like HistoryGal, I don't like to crowd people and expect others not to unnecessarily crowd me, whatever I'm doing.

Prompted by skibum's post about meeting a service dog, I thought I would be nice if people posted photos of their service, emotional support, or just plain pet dogs! I'll start off with my dog Poppy. She's a 7 year-old, rescued, Basset Hound and is not a trained support dog but she's always around i...
