Breaking a lease in order to relocate for work is something that people can do.

Finding a car is also something that people can do.

I think applying for the job would be cool.

I wish I could tell you that it gets better. It may or may not. Maybe some volunteer work-- an hour or so on a weekend at a place that is interesting to you? Sell graphic art stuff on the web? Learn some coding stuff if you haven't already and sell yourself as a web designer? Going back to school ma...

I feel badly that you are going through this.

In some countries, you are legally protected from stuff like that if you disclose that you have a medical condition/ disability. In others, you are not.

Seems to me that if you do your job, that should be most important.

Some Aspies stim. Some use echolalia. That is my point. I am withdrawing from this conversation with you.

Many officially diagnosed autistics are unemployed.

As for those without an official label, we do not know.

I ran out of time the other day. I agree with you about echolalia to a point. It is not only "low-functioning" [functioning labels are not okay] autistics who use echolalia. Babies use it during the process of language development. Some Aspie do it too. I understand your frustration with &...

Meowing in the hallway? Sounds delightful! I was written up for telling the same joke all month long and for teaching a client how to drive (No rules were posted against that or guidelines ever given but I "should have known..."), and so I was put back on work probation. It turned out that...

No, that is not my understanding of how stims work. Babies stim. Blind people stim-- in their case, those particular stuns are called blindisms. Not all people who have sensory processing deficits are autistic and even the ones who aren't autistic stim. Some people dx'd as having adhd stim. Anxious ...

So this is a past therapist then??? In that case, at least she is not part of your present. I will not claim that "Not all therapists are like that." I will say that finding professionals who are competent in treating autistic adults is difficult. I am sorry that you went through all of th...

To me, a hospital [or school or camp etc] that is willing to say, "we are not suitable for autistic patients" is preferable to one that claims to be able to treat everyone.

I haven't read the article so more than that, I cannot say.

I'd like to add another situation, that I think tops the rest. We just had a really intense session, where she pushed my emotional buttons over and over, to "help bring my feelings out". Which basically amounted to her trying to make me cry. It took all mental effort I could muster...
