WoW! I didn’t expect that I would get this many answers! Thank you! I feel so supported and understood! I am glad that I am not the only one. And like some of you have said: I can keep my childhood interests private. But the way I dress etc, I can’t keep private so I will keep it the way I like beca... |

Hi I am a little bit sad and confused. I am a 30 something woman, and I like stuff that teenage girls like and I act younger than my age. I get a lot of reactions about this that are negative and teasing. I don’t know what to do. I think maybe I should let go of all the things I like and act more ma... |

This was an exact scenario for me as well. I have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and as I look back on it now I realize that my father was also an Aspie too. He was extremely cold, angry, mean-spirited and very quick to anger with us in the house all the time but whenever strangers came ov... |

Hi I was wondering if it’s possible that someone has autism and be nice to others and not to his children. I have aspergers and I think my father has it too. But he is undiagnosed. He has a lot of traits but he can look us in the eye. But that’s all. He shows no affection to us, not even noticing us... |

Yes I do get that. I tend to keep myself to myself when I notice it because I always think it must be because of something I've done. Yes exactly. And that’s why I get sad about it. But I thought “well I do see a difference so I guess I am not that autistic”. But I don’t always know why when the em... |

Hi Sometimes I see something is off in someone’s face. It’s different than usual. But I can’t pinpoint what is wrong. But I do see something is wrong. Who also has that? (The ability to see that something is off but not knowing what) Does it make you feel bad in any way when you notice these things... |

I know what you mean. A facial expression might make a person seem sad, perturbed, irritated, or something....but it's so subtle that it's hard to pinpoint. Yes, that's happened to me. I'm better at it than I used to be---but, in the old days, I couldn't tell subtle changes in facial expression at ... |

I think you mean seeing certain cues, or expressions on a person's face, but not understanding really what they are or what they mean. Is that it? If that is what you are talking about, then I have indeed experienced this before, especially in the past when I couldn't "read" social cues. ... |

Yes, post-socialising exhaustion is very familiar to me. It sounds like you might be expending a lot of energy to "pass as normal", which in my experience can become so ingrained that there is almost no awareness of doing it. If the process of learning it begins early in life, it is easy ... |

Hi Here I am with another question :) How many of you have friends and or social contacts? I have Autism/Asperger, at least according to the latest diagnoses (it has previously been OCD and social anxiety) but I can laugh and function with friends. They don’t notice anything. Some of them don’t even... |

O I don’t know what’s aspergers and what not. I just know that people tell me that I talk on a “higher” level with kids and that they don’t understand. I can’t play with them so the only thing I can do is watch movies with them and talk about serious things. Usually how they can develop into healthy... |
