There is a free version of Norton. And updating it completely screwed up my computer a few years ago. Luckily I had a friend who knew how to fix it so I didn't ahve to pay for it. Ran one software update and then Norton blocked my computer from starting up unless it was in safe mode. Microsoft made ...

The eye patch i wear when grocery shopping conceals part of my face - wonder if that would give me in trouble. I am curious, is the eye patch for functional reasons or for decorative reasons? Functional - I can't have both eyes exposed to flickering light at the same time -and that includes things ...

I followed the link above and I can't believe how many DIFFERENT Sponge Bob styles there are! I thought my daughter had "the" style. Apparently not. Too funny, too funny. I hope you'll love your new glasses. Well they are the ones that change to sunglasses outside, so if i'm right the glasses and a...

i'm a lesbian and i don't know if i have asperger's or not but either way, the way i view it is that neither homosexuality or asperger's are negative things but that many ignorant people cannot accept unconventional ideas or people. they are both similar in that way. neither trait is an illness or ...

I've turned the automatic update feature off in Vista and just let it tell me when updates are available, so I can download them at a time that is convenient, otherwise they just kill my internet connection (I've only got dial up as I'm in the middle of the countryside). Another one to watch out fo...

I don't think that there's any possibility of having a repeat of the Great Depression. Locally grown food alone can be had in enough supply for me to fill my car with it, without going broke, and I have practically no savings. I've heard stories about how my grandfather had to use cereal boxes as s...

If you go to your old univerisity with the intention of randomly coming across professors who may be able to help you with a problem then you should pick a day that classes are actually held on. :D It seems to make a huge difference in the number of faculty that you can find

and I was a Math major (double with Computer Science) in college. It's always felt like my living situation and resulting lack of sleep was destroying my cognitive functions, and having spectacularly failed a (very simple!) math exam that was part of an interview process (to get a job in a place wi...

You are ungrateful, the rules are now readily visible in most forums, and how am I harassing users? Still under the titles that don't include the word rules and sometimes titles that cause people to want to avoid those threads entirely - I've brought this up kindly before. No mod has ever offered a...

And you think you can do any better as a moderator? Let me lay down the word for you: did you know that, before they had cars, they had horses? And that every horse considered any location a convenient toilet? And that they had people sweeping said excrement from the roads? Well, we're the ones who...

And it reverted some of my other settings back to what they were originally as well Well I got that taken care of, and today had to disa...
