Brilliant explanation, too true

That really riles me. You go to all the trouble of trying to get a diagnosis but the so-called experts decide to act as gate-keepers and deny it to you because you make eye contact or seem high-functioning and they want to conserve support resources (or something like that) to those they think deser...

In response to the op, if they're still here, with TESOL, masters in education and Arabic, you do have skills in demand in other countries. I'm from the UK originally, and I'm pretty sure there would be schools in parts of London or other cities with large immigrant populations who could use someone...

You have to be careful with Ashwagandha, I've had a problem with it before. It does have a powerful effect to increase thyroid hormones - sometimes too powerful. What I find is when I get disease flares I get swings in thyroid hormone levels which means adding ashwagandha on top can push me into a h...

Well, I seem to be making progress, tests in late January had thyroid hormones back in the normal range. There isn't a cure for Hashomoto's but maybe I've gone into a temporary remission? So the gluten and dairy free diet might have been working even when I thought it wasn't. I've been trying some o...

It's concerning, no?

I do not believe in the concept of "masking" because from where I sit so far, it appears to be lying. I certainly could be wrong, 100 percent wrong, but my policy is to just be real, be honest and be open to the world as much as is practical. I do realize that the official definition is t...

Once I had an idea to develop a new spreadsheet tool for work. My manager didn't want it but I got so interested in the idea that I took time off work and spent 3 weeks straight developing it on my own time, stopping only to eat and sleep. After I was finished (and it worked pretty well, by the way)...

Personally I am self-absorbed but not arrogant. Sometimes I try to be interested in other people but once they actually get talking about themselves it feels painful and I just want them to shut up. No idea why autism gives me such a low tolerance (or maybe it's just me and I'm a self-centred a**hol...

It does seem that Carly's father prevented her from posting anything public as soon as she said something that embarrassed him.
Her family probably dressed it up as being protective.
They sent her for electric shock therapy too, I heard.

I'm worried that Australia is going the same way. The LNP leader has already stated his intention to steer the govt away from DEI in favour of "merit-based". (Yeah, I got so many job offers and promotions for being an autistic woman  ) There've been high profile sexual assault cases ...
