I should explain that I have studied applied geoscience at higher degree level which requires some understanding of geological history. Unfortunately, I have found that many geologists by their knowledge of geological timescales and habit of thinking in the millions of years, may not appreciate the ...

You do realize, don't you, that this is a cool period in the history of the Earth. Prior to the beginning of our current ice age, they were a fair bit higher than they are now. OMG no! You are talking nonsense! I mean, OK, if you are looking at the entire history of the earth and geological periods...

I can sometimes pick up on non-verbal clues, but I suspect my own facial expressions are a bit off as my intent seems to be misunderstood a lot.

I work in disability services, where "person first language" is very much the desired terminology, so I generally use "has autism / person with autism / on the spectrum." I'm studying for a grad certificate in autism studies, and the current preferred term seems to be "indi...

I prefer to say I'm autistic rather than I have autism, mainly because it's less clunky. I like to be economical in my communication. And it seems more appropriate, since autism is not a disease.

I would not call it hysteria. We are getting to the point now where the science is established enough that governments and companies may find themselves being sued if they do not start taking it seriously and act accordingly.

I have seen so much conflicting information on the health benefits or hazards of dairy, and cow's milk in particular. For example: - cow's milk is supposed to be more natural than milk alternatives BUT is it natural to feed humans on calf food? - yogurt, butter and cheeses are important foods in Eur...

I wouldn't say I nailed it, exactly, but I got my current job by being knowledgable and experienced in the field. When I was younger and less experienced, I would read up what I could find about the company, dress conservatively but comfortably, and allow time to find the place so I didn't arrive al...

Well I'm not sure if this is good advice as I'm not sure of your situation and personal needs, but this is what I would suggest from general health knowledge: My suggestion is to be consistent in taking care of: 1. Diet - avoid highly processed food and anything with a mix of sugar and fat (cookies,...

Thanks Jakki. I have been trying to eat a natural diet without junk food or highly processed food, and I temporarily cut out gluten and dairy, but it doesn't seem to be helping much. Still getting headaches and fatigue, joint pains etc. I don't really know what else I can do, until the doctor puts m...

Just because he's non-verbal that doesn't mean he's unintelligent. Maybe he knows what he's doing and he's trying to get a rise out of people....
