Like many things there’s good and bad forms of Eugenics. It’s just the actions of the NAZIs that gave it a bad name. Fixing bad genes in babies before their born so are born healthy and free of disability is good, in fact it’s being done now with HIV I believe. Using it to sterilize or target ethnic...

Religious extremists.

I read a few years back ISIS did execute a group of disabled children in Syria, it didn’t specify what disability they had but not sure what elements of their religion they are getting this anti disability from?

Evil scum that they are

A major concern of autistic rights activists has been how parents' behavior toward their autistic children is affected by the parents' attitude toward autism. The anti-"cure" position was first articulated back in the early 1990's by Jim Sinclair, Don't Mourn for Us . Jim Sinclair's main ...

Was a very long read to be honest skim read through much of it, overly long & allot of useless psychobabble.

Maybe the author just wants to create their own movement & call it something else, but at least they recognise the problems with ND so can be commended for that.

The question of whether a given impairment should be thought of as a "disease that must be cured" or just a "disability" -- or even a "disability" at all -- isn't primarily a scientific question in the first place. It is primarily a societal/cultural question whose ans...

Cant believe in 2021 people are still tribal on Republican / Democrat.  Any smart person will tell you they are both two sides of the same coin in the oligarchy fake democracy. Just like the Conservative Party and the Labour Party. Yes true though still the remains of the temporary blip with brexit...

There have been studies stating differences in mini column size, autistic brains tend to have mini columns more bunched up with poorer insulation between. This makes sense from an electrical circuit wiring perspective. A signal for one mini column ends up in another. Not sure why no consensus has be...

Sadly i dont think this especially applies to autism, there`s 8 billion people on the planet, unless someone has a unique tallent or ability they are just another person. The comedian is expected to be funny, when he`s not no one is interested in him. The model is expected to be attractive when they...

Do you feel that autism is a catch-all diagnosis? I feel like a lot of autistic people on the internet have sadly a lot of diagnoses. I know autism have comorbidities but I can't help thinking that autism must be "diluted" among all these diagnoses and that it is really about "unclas...

Because autism is heterogeneous & just a name given to a cluster of subjective symptoms, not clearly defined biologically, with as yet unknown causes, using psychology alone to explain it is flawed. Autism is where the brain doesn’t work the way it was evolved to do, this causes an assortment o...

Wow, that's exactly how I've been feeling, I could have wrote that myself (I hope the mods don't think I'm sockpuppeting! Lol). I am almost neurotypical enough to be able to imagine what I'd be like if I were neurotypical but Aspie enough to be unable to be 100% neurotypical. I'm quite socially ski...
