I am so enraged by the remarks of RFK Jr. "Those kids will never hold jobs ... Pay taxes ... Play baseball ... Write poems ... Go out on dates." Is this the definition of a valid human life? And who is he to decide? He was describing profound autism from a NT viewpoint because those are t...

The thing is he is not responsible for the DSMV and the merging of profound autism leaving people with an IQ of 30 and unable to use a toilet alone with Asperger’s and possibly those with same symptoms as Ellon Musk and an attention seeking celeb. Any government is going to be concerned if at face ...

Whether he personally believes this about us or not he is sending a message that we are normal people trapped inside autism due to poisoning, mutants and not in the good X-Men type of way. He views Autism as an epidemic, a crises. That view of Autism like any crises ends up justifying taking shortc...

I don't know, I'm not saying he is great but I think he is in a general sense on the right track. I think he holds the overall theory that yes, autism does have a genetic component that can be passed down through the generations. I believe his theory also holds that a myriad of environmental toxics...

I would welcome research on environmental factors. But that is not what is promised. If a reasonable approach were adopted, by the September deadline they could have undertaken a review of existing research, picked up some environmental factors deserving further attention, such as pesticides, PCBs,...

Non genetic autism research should be welcomed. For too long all we have seen is multi million dollar gene hunts that have produced minimal value for autistic people and just annoyed neurodiversity advocates anyway. There’s been some promising developments in the last decade met by undeserved disint...

I joined this site in 2013 and this is by far the darkest time for the American Autistic community since I have been here. Even before the rise of Kennedy at least in part because of the stigmas and they way we were treated the mental illness rates amoung us was an abomination. Kennedy being grante...

It just seems like something a company can do to look more welcoming without doing practically anything at all. Yes, I suspect it's an example of what's called performative activism - companies paying lip service to politically-correct ideas without doing any real legwork to change anything, becaus...

One of the most interesting thing these days is the use of creative language. You can make almost anything be anything with the right semantic words. If you read this article it has a very different tone on the same subject, read one after the other and you`ll see what i mean:- https://www.hhs.gov/...

Less flippantly, though, I have the feeling that they may wish to split autism up into those most severely affected and others (HFA, aspies, etc.) who may be labelled as fakers or something like that, to bring down numbers and deny supports. Maybe they will play around with the diagnostic criteria ...

My guess is they are betting the farm on the testimony of so called whistleblower William Thompson that the cdc covered up evidence of a link. So from their point of view they believe if they test whatever he says was covered up it will bring a positive result. Which would explain the narrow time ex...
