ASPartOfMe , when COVID began to strike the U.S. and the world at the end of 2019, the president was given a lot of false information about the source of the disease, the treatment approach, the most at-risk / the most vulnerable in the U.S. He was mislead by our leading experts. H5N1 is a very dif...

Like I said, I’m still working on earning the cert. I don’t have it yet. Currently training for it. But I’m psyched to get through it. It sounds like you choose a good career path, one that you have special unique skills for. You definitely need to think outside the box to perform this type of work...

It was a very cold night. The temperatures fell to - 4.7 degrees F ( - 20.4 degrees C). The ground is still covered with snow. But I hear there is some warmer weather coming, maybe even some RAIN. I have bird seed in the bird feeders. Around 50 birds are surviving this cold snap from the food. But t...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYXXIP5-tcA Dr. Peter Hotez, Professor Baylor College of Medicine, said "and what it comes down to is the reason it is all-hands-on-deck and the people are concerned is that eventually it could cause human-to-human transmission and become a serious epidemic in t...

When Betelgeuse explodes in a supernova event, much of the mass of the star is not exploded in all directions like a bomb, but rather much of the material is sent along the stars spin axis. There is a very small thin line-of-fire. Much of space is primarily a vacuum. If Earth is along the spin axis,...

It is getting colder. The temperature fell to 0.0 degrees F ( -17.8 degrees C) this morning. I have resupplied the birds with birdseed. Around 40 - 50 birds or more are finding food when the ground is covered with almost a foot of snow. There are many babies trying to survive the cold winter.

MikeCheque , Welcome to Wrong Planet. You wrote, "a bit too risky for me, at least while I get used to being sober whilst surrounded by drunks!" I can understand how that can be a problem in surviving life. I live in a very small town in the U.S. There are two stoplights in our town. Near...

Marquinn, Welcome to Wrong Planet. First off, I hate acronyms. According to my acronym translator. HTB Certified Penetration Testing Specialist (HTB CPTS) is a highly hands-on certification that assesses the candidates’ penetration testing skills. HTB Certified Penetration Testing Specialist certifi...

According to Wikipedia: For various reasons, its distance has been quite difficult to measure; current best estimates are of the order of 400–600 light-years from the Sun – a comparatively wide uncertainty for a relatively nearby star. With an age of less than 10 million years, Betelgeuse has evolve...

The temperature dropped down to 15.8 degrees F. last night. But I understand that we might have near zero degree temperatures for the next couple days.

Now I remember the name of this star. It is called Beetlejuice . It is only 400 to 500 light years away from our home. That is extremely close to Earth for an event of this type. It lies near the edge of an extinction level event, in my humble opinion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH3FTWN3S2w Do ...

The main time of threat will occur during the very beginning of the explosion. This is because of the speed, near light speed.

There were seven sisters. A few thousand years ago, one died. Man recorded the loss. But another sister is about to die. Scientist are recording the event. It is happening slowly, element by element. Moving from hydrogen at the bottom higher and higher and higher until it finally explodes. The siste...

My parents' home back in the south got 7 inches of snow the other day. That's a pretty rare event, especially these days. I can't believe that my former state got a Winter Storm Warning and I am yet to see one up here in New England... It makes me sad. I know the winters have been weaker up here, b...
