'm basically trying to find a light in all this darkness and not completely panic over the idea of losing my apartment and so on. For you, the light in all this darkness is that you live in Pennsylvania, a key swing state. This means that local political activism by you, personally, can make a nati...

OTOH I do expect some people to interpret his election as a signal for violence against zionists in general and Jews in particular. I hope this won't happen, but indeed it's possible. I think there's at least as much danger -- and probably much more danger -- of violence from JDL-like pro-Zionist f...

Why Five Towns? That's not in NYC, that's in Nassau County. Why would property values be going down in Five Towns? I would have thought that property values on Long Island would go up like they did during COVID. That's what I would have expected, too. My guess is irrationality caused by panic. Extr...

New York luxury landlords draft Israeli equity swap amid socialist upset [...] A second investor added: “You can’t dump buildings fast without taking a haircut. Give us a one-year window and an Israeli voucher equal to the wiped-out equity, and a lot of Five Towns people will bite.” [...] Why Five ...

Unfortunately, people who have grown up around highly manipulative people tend to assume that everything is a mind game and that genuine misunderstandings are rare. This is true whether or not the people around them were genuinely manipulative. If someone has always had the attitude that those arou...

They've given in. People are afraid to do what's right. That is what Trump wants. I wouldn't say that these people have given in. They've just shifted their tactics. The new tactics might even be more effective at convincing large numbers of people NOT to vote Republican in near-future elections.

It seems like a stretch to blame socialism as the root cause, or even among the root causes. Overspending and poorly implemented social spending aren't synonymous with socialism and from the sounds of things, the social programs weren't out of line with the sorts liberals pursued in other places. I...

The problem with house-husbands is that they don't know how to maintain a household, so they are pretty much useless. I remember when women tried that, hooking up with men when they earned more, but the men didn't make themselves useful enough for the relationship to continue. Bit of an overgeneral...

And while it’s easy to target billionaires, the truth is not all billionaires are evil. Some inherited their wealth, some do invest in positive causes, and some are just cogs in a system that rewards exploitation whether they ask for it or not. It’s the system itself that’s the problem—not always t...

A few of them 1. Whenever someone seems to play mind games by asking you a question. When you answer, that person says "No that's not my question." That one really pushes my buttons. Another thing they do is "That still does not tell me anything." 2. Whenever someone asks you fo...

Nobody likes being criticized, even if they recognize that being criticized is a necessary evil. I don't criticise people I think. When they ask for my opinion and don't like it, I don't think that's criticism. And when I do feel hurt by others and tell them, I always start with: 'I feel this when ...
