I used to feel like that. I used to argue with women who told me not to ask guys out or force things. "It'll just happen" they said. Then my moves paid off and someone bit... He really liked my friend and eventually dumped me and married her. How long a period of time was this "event...

I've found that if women have to make the first move it's because the man isn't really interested. He might say yes, but it's because you're a stop gap until he find what he really wants, then he'll magically develop the ability to go for what he wants and drop you like a hot potato. There's a deep...

An example: In my ideal world, there would no longer be the expectation that men must be the ones to make the first move. Women and men would be both equally free and equally likely to make the first move. I never liked the idea of being constrained to a passive role. And I'm sure there are plenty o...

As I said, this thread wasn't intended to be about power, but about the dating/courtship customs of your ideal world.

Not really. All a woman needs to do is call the whaaaambulance, say "I'm not happy!", and just leave. And if she's married, she'll get the house, the car, the dog, the custody of the kids, her husband's antique stamp collection, 50% of his bank account assets, the alimony until she remarr...

Today, all women, no matter how badly unattractive, can replace a man as easily as they can replace a pair panties. Perhaps so, if all that the woman is looking for is sex. But that's not most women, attractive or otherwise. Most women are looking for a longterm relationship. And there are plenty o...

No, but I understand why he made them, and I'm somewhat skeptical of the legal proceedings against him.

What is your understanding of why he made them?

He's the same scumbag who tore into the hearts of grieving parents after their children were murdered, and more, encouraged his followers to harass said parents. And? I don't consider the emotional salience of the accusations to be terribly helpful in determining their factual accuracy, Perhaps not...

Apparently you were being sarcastic here? In any case, the post to which this was a response contained a statement of ethical values, not factual claims.

The current over-use of the idea of "sealioning" represents a change in online etiquette norms, probably due to the current popularity of social media like Facebook and Twitter, as distinct from old-fashioned message board forums like WP. Message boards are more conducive to debate and dis...

It is make or break this weekend. He says he is going to tell his daugher he is back together with me. It is only talking right now. I gave him the key to my new flat, but despite initially leaving me the key to his house (our former home) he took it back. What was his stated reason for taking back...

I do feel his daughter is acting up to get her own way to some extent. I can see that she really struggles with the side effects of her meds recently, but I feel a lot of this is a misguided attempt by her to get her parents back together. There was a lot of talk from her about magic potions to get...

My partner called police minutes after I asked him to sign a minute of agreement through lawyer and I took my car keys back from him. I had bought him a car, but needed to sell it to recoup my money. Then he wanted me gone, like I had served my purpose. I was no longer the cash cow and maybe he did...

Yes, I'm familiar, it's still bogus, a new gloss on an old excuse to get out of backing up your statements. It's just a fancy way of claiming bad faith, ironically often used in bad faith itself by people who want to make controversial claims and not bother to defend them. In at least some cases I ...

Whatever Russia is doing to scare or piss off its neighbors, Russia needs to stop. Similarly, the U.S.A. needs to be a better neighbor than it is now to Canada and Mexico, especially Mexico. Otherwise, it wouldn't surprise me if Mexico ends up seeking friends elsewhere ... and we end up with Russian...

Look. It is not our job to educate people. If they really want to be educated and want to understand, they will seek the information out themselves. Don't waste your time with sources that are easily out there. Hmmm, I still think that if someone makes a claim, it should --usually -- be that person...
