I've been thinking a lot about the idea of liking someone very much, eg a woman. It is is sometimes said that people with ASD feel and express being in love different than people with NT. It is also said that we actually are very similar to people with NT in many ways. What are your experiences with...

However, I'm also sometimes frustrated while engaging in my special interests. Anything can be frustrating, especially if it requires skill and you have high standards of quality. Many years ago, poetry was my main thing too and I could also become frustrated with it. Just remembering all the text ...

I'm no expert but it sounds like that may be an OCD rumination or compulsion as opposed to a special interest. You didn't prove enough detail to really say but you may look into that. I've seen a lot of resources that can help with those, but they would be handled differently than a special interes...

Should I call my Aspergers Autism? I don’t know what to call it. Is Autism can be disabled?

Why not just talk about your struggles and strengths instead?

I am a person who is very interested in poetry. I sing and recite peotry. One could say that it is my special interest but I am not so sure one should use that term in my case. Special interests seems to be a lot about the state of flow and being happy when being engaged in it. Trying to be in a sta...

It seems to be more of a social thing than having a focus on singing. I am a singer and I often find that when people sing the birthday song (not refering to Happy b-day) they ussually don't care about good singing. I care. I also get frustrated if people choose low keys. I cant sing low. When it co...

The origin of the quote is biblical (John 8:32), and refers to the notion that if you "believe" and become a "disciple of Jesus" then you will learn "the truth" which will "liberate you from the bondage of sin." So it's not about telling the truth, it's about...

If the truth sets you free, why do I feel like I get into more trouble when I do tell the truth? It feels like when I tell the truth, all I'm doing is making my situation worse. I was under the impression that the truth would get you out of trouble, but obviously, that's not the case. https://en.m....

That is AKA "Flat affect", which many of us do indeed have. I cannot say I have had the best record in maintaining relationships, but I can say that once you DO "get with someone", it becomes much easier to learn what the other prefers in being shown re: how much you love them, ...

So I am sometimes at a place for people with autism and adhd. I once told one of the staff that I had feelings for her. She told me that she did not see any signs of this. I guess I am good at hiding things like that. Or perhaps I gave personal signs that is hard to interpret. I can add that I start...

Some people say that people with ASD communicate in a very concrete way.
I don't think that is always true. Sometimes we are less concrete and this people not understand us.
ASD is not black n white. It is complex.

It takes practice to be good at being in front of a camera. It is not as easy as it seems.

Do you care about you're national day? Is it something you celebrate? What is it that makes people care so much about such a da? Today we have the Swedish national day. We do not really care much about it here. I guess some of us sing the national anthem but most people do not even care about that. ...

I find that people who call themselves introverts don't like being in big groups when socializing. That would be me. But to me the extrovert-introvert thing seems wrong. It seems very black n white. I know of one person who is said to be very extroverted. At times he looks very introverted. I think ...
