Yes, but it's often seems to be an overcompensation resulting from limited self-awareness, one can be less cynical the better they understand themselves and the world around them. A lot of people seem to go overboard with how cynical they become. We're sort of saying the same thing. A naive person ... |

Don't know about naive. I'm one of the most cynical people I know. And if NTs aren't naive, how come there's a flourishing advertising industry, and how come Trump got voted into power? I'm not sure that being cynical is the opposite of being naive, especially when it often seems like being cynical... |

Has anyone here gotten good at something without practising it? Well, why would one expect social skills to work differently? Like with any skill, people want to have the skill, but still don't like to put in the work. It's why some ppl invent narratives that assert that NTs are "just born wit... |

I may have criticised something out there that doesn't quite exist, but I don't put words into members' mouths like you've done. As for the rest of your stuff, I see no merit in engaging with it, though on a slow day it's tempting to do just that when I see so many flaws in it. It's surely futile t... |

^ Not really a straw man in the usual sense of the word, i.e. a device used in arguments to weaken the apparent credibility of opposing views. I just find it less offensive that berating a neurotype, because neurotypes represent real, identifiable people, who might feel rightly offended. Very diffe... |

Today's class was mostly jumping. Jumping on two legs, jumping on one leg, jumping from one leg to the other, jumping high toe kicks, jumping heel kicks, jumping crescent kicks, high toe kick into jumping high toe kick... also some shoulder rolls, and I got to practice with my staff a little bit, an... |

The idea that NTs can be easily led along by the nose, with little more than flattery and pretty lies. As many times as I've seen Dale Carnegie's name invoked, I've yet to meet someone who seems to actually understand what he was on about. It is not a book about manipulating people. One smoking gun... |

This thread seems to have a lot of questionable assumptions embedded into it. That remark would be more interesting if you quoted an example or two. Easily remedied. Some of the assumptions I find questionable are: Right off the bat, the premise of the title, begging the question of NTs having bigg... |

The distribution and degree of ego seems to be about the same to me, whether talking about NTs or NDs.
This thread seems to have a lot of questionable assumptions embedded into it. |

I got curious enough to look up some of the questions and statements made in this thread. As mentioned, fencing is usually a mixed-gender sport. While some leagues are genders specific, most fencing leagues already have men and women fencing against each other, and co-ed fencing is a common and acce... |

I read a quote just now that made me think of your situation, chris. "You're so in your own head, you can't even enjoy where you are." Spend less time in your own head. DO things. External things. Things other than sitting around and thinking and worrying. Find a hobby, start a project, pu... |

Is there a similar superstition in the USA as well? That one needs to take a careful look at what the bird is doing when they see it for the first time at the beginning of the year? The only stork lore I've heard of in the USA is the one about storks bringing babies. I am unable to find reference t... |

^ NICE ^
It's like a reversal of the BOSS body kits they sell for Nissan S-chassis cars that have a camaro look to them. People will chuck LSx motors in there too.

According to Google, the wood stork is native to the southeastern USA, including florida, georgia, and the carolinas.
I'm pretty sure I've seen quite a few of them. Also egrets and ibises and herons. |

It sounds like you're projecting your own FOMO onto society as a whole. The idea that "I'd better try this, or I'll regret it forever" is for things like trying a new food, visiting a city or landmark, taking on a new hobby, starting a new career or seeking a new degree, or perhaps profess... |

Go out. Do things. When all you do is sit at home alone with a handful of hobbies and little else to do, your mind has more than enough idle time to just ruminate and obsess about whatever is in your own head. If you go out and find things to do, and fill your life with more experiences, you'll have... |
