I'm an old guy that is a member of AARP, the American Association of Retired Persons. Your mom or pop may be members, who knows? So, they had an article today listed WFH (work from home) positions that, to my eyes, pay WELL. You have to go to their job boards. I know a lot of Aspies dream about work...

I used to respect highly university professors, anyone with higher education. Today, what we have are mediocre college professors that have achieved their position due to their belonging to a racial or sexual minority. Their qualifications, in terms of merit, may have nothing to do with their positi...

You May Be A Communist If You Believe . . . . . . anyone practicing any form of religion without permission of the State is engaging in subversive behavior. California, COVID-time. They shut down the churches, supposedly over fear of germs, and prosecuted the church-goers, as in the days of the old...

Of course, there's lots of that in the outside world... but even online, in its limited ways, I'm faced by constant 'bullies' (or whichever term applies, whether in a position to do something about it or just through words...) Like, I don't get it... so many relatively small sites online, with thes...

I used to listen to her song over and over when I was young. It really resonated with a lot of us. She was always involved in some drama if you read the media. With Prince, especially. The song came from the heart. She really became attached to other people.

I don't follow new movies at all. I wait until the dust settles and see what the critics say, even if I disagree with critics. Best movie I watched lately was 1997's The Apostle. I had low expectations but the movie blew me away.

Do you think it helps or makes things harder to tell people that you are autistic? For instance, if you are in a conversation and you realize that you are not understanding the vibe or what the other person is expecting you to say, or how to react, does it help to mention something like, "I'm ...

I watched a good movie about him today, "Son of God" (from 2014, I think). I think he was very interesting and want to learn more about him. I plan to read the Bible one day. I will start with the New Testament. He was either just who he said he was, a powerful magician, and enlightened te...

I thought about P.O. Boxes. I actually mentioned that in the first conversation when she got offended and said we shouldn't be friends anymore. At that point, she saw it as more evidence that I could be fake or a troll. It triggered her. The #1 reason that friendships go south is that people freak ...

I drank all the way up until mid-life, on weekends and even after work. Then I started studying magic and practicing rituals. That New Age road led me back to Christianity. So, Christians should think twice, before condemning magic! It is all part of the same kernel, belief, which is opposed to non-...

Welcome! Never too late to learn about one's self and one's relation to the world. Asperger's for me was like a key that explained so many mysteries that had puzzled me.

I agree with other posters here. In our world, everyone works, and working people are regarded with respect. People that don't work are looked at differently. Work will give you purpose and meaning in life, and believe it or not, a lot of people continue working even after they have enough money and...

Thanks MV, there's some really practical useful stuff in there. Particularly the keeping separate accounts for separate purposes, I'm definitely going to do that. I can't really fault anybody on here for struggling with money, the vast majority of the recommendations I've seen are for people that h...

A common thread in Asperger's is oversharing. Just because you feel or think something does not mean you have to tell others about it. When you shared your thoughts about an article you read, your wife latched on to that as a launching board for her internal thought processes, which involve disconte...

No paywall, no problem. Persistent rejection in the mating market can lead to dysphoric singlehood, including feeling "not good enough" and like one must radically change to be considered “worthy” by the opposite sex.  These feelings can be projected inwards, causing people to feel defeat...
