I never suspected a thing until about age 65 my daughter turned on a BBC documentary about autistic teens at school. I started to sob (I never cry!) and kept saying it was like that, that could be me. Daughter consoled me and said "maybe you should try to find out if you are autistic". Fun...

give her some time, she may simply be overwhelmed and not feel like doing usual things. Express your concern but don't pester. Many people need alone and quiet time especially when they are upset. Don't take it personally.

welcome! when I finally recognized my own autism it was such a shock, surprise, and relief! Finally the world began to make sense. My history of painful "whys" had answers. Glad you are with us!

WElcome, sorry I missed your incoming earlier! I relate so much to what you told us. I decided that I was autistic after a couple years of research when I was 65 and set out to find diagnoisi from a professional. That took several false tries and lots of frustration. Finally got diagnosis at age 68....
