That's just how doctors be... They never listen to you, and act like they're the first to tell you anything they say. Ignore what you don't wanna do. You know yourself better than them.

I've worked with doctors for 20 years and that's the best description I've heard yet!

How'd you know it's paradise if you've never seen it?
It might be a s**t hole

I used to suffer from crippling anxiety. Prescribed medication helped for a time but long term it's about learning your triggers and finding a way to work through it. Don't aim for eradicating it as it's a normal emotion. The more you're able to tolerate it the easier it gets. Don't fall into the tr...

The problem is... I can't believe people just seemingly imply that people who break in will just stay in one place as if in a cage or something... they could have broken in with an intent to kill me... in which case what else can I do but defend and counterattack? I doubt any sort of police, even i...

Being accused of planning a mass murder at work. Do I win the contest? That could be a strong entry. What was the motive that got misinterpreted? Sending a picture of some airgun pellets to a colleague as part of a private joke. Someone else saw it and raised a complaint together with a load of oth...

Makes you wonder how many thousands of children have been failed by the system which should be there to support them. The cost to society is far greater in the long term when these kids aren't able to fulfill their true potential and end up needing to rely on the state instead of learning how to be ...

All too familiar. My 7 year old has been home educated now for around a year as he couldn't cope with school. We got absolutely no support from them. Took months to get the GP to do a referral to children's mental health services and when he finally had an appointment we now need to wait 15 months f...

Age is irrelevant as we're all freaks on here but I'm also 'older' and identify with a lot of what you describe.
Take a leaf out of your friend's book and become an alcoholic. It's kind of working for me at the moment!

When people ask this they're not really interested in the answer. It's just an excuse for them to bore you to tears with what they've done. Just say anything…they won't be listening!

How about you?

Are you looking in or out of the cave?
I'm still alive so guess I have to be grateful for that?

It's just an example of people being idiots. There's a lot of it about. Don't overanalyze it and just ignore it

I'm attending an online meeting. The presenter keeps making noises with his mouth, like tutting, keeps saying actually, and he needs a de-esser (whistley noises every time he says a word with an S in it). It is driving me insane! I still can't decide whether interacting with people virtually or in ...
