I am queer and Autistic. The former was a more of an issue when when I was younger. As Ive grown older the situation has reversed. These days my queer identity barely raises an eyebrow or results in any judgement or problems. Disclosure of my AU identity brings with it much discrimination, disrespec...

I never seem to have related very well to people of the same age. In my head I remain in my late 20's and early 30's. I seem to get on best with people in their 30's'40's and 50's. My wife is 13 years younger that me. People of my own age seem very old and I dont seem to have much in common with them.

Ive come to he conclusion that I am actually a Time Lord that had his/her memory erased before being marooned on this planet. Its the explanation that makes the most sense to me. I will however continue to use the illogical medicalised label that the natives here have given me as regards my inherent...

I experience something like this mainly in my legs and have done for the past 45 years. Over the past 12 months I have undergone a number of NHS tests focused on my metabolism and nervous system including a full CAT scan. They have no clue as to what is causing it and have no idea as to what to do n...

My partner is Autistic so it works for me. Way better than my previous relationships with NT's - which I found traumatic due to gas lighting and covert conversion therapy. Still have to work at it and compromise of course but at least my cognitive processing style, stimming and monotropic flow state...

I hate doing paperwork.

However, I know how important written confirmation is to so many people.

Especially of they have waited the average 4 years that it takes in the UK to get an NHS assessment.

I was born in the late 50's so have many memories of growing up in the 60's. This was in the far North of the UK - so hardly at the forefront of things! I recall many things that were rooted in the 40's and 50's including the way many adults dressed and acted. Things seemed ultra conservative and ad...

Over a month is not good practice in my opinion. I provide a full written report and letter of confirmation that can be given to an employer, education providers or any other official body within 2 weeks. I also send a copy of the report to the persons GP so that it can be added to their health reco...

I am dyspraxic and find riding a bicycle challenging. I also have problems with my joints due to EDS and cycling really strains my knees. However, I find using a kick scooter much easier. You can just step on and off it and its way more acceptable to use them on pavements. Less threatening to other ...

I was described as a 'picky eater' as a child. I was severely underweight and this caused my family a great deal of anxiety. The Dr's didnt know what to do, as then, there was a poor understanding of sensory drivers for avoidant behaviour around food. I currently am diagnosed under DSM5 with ARFID (...
