I do not understand you.
In simple, clear terms can you state - your beliefs regarding past mass extinction events and their causes - your beliefs regarding significant climate change being in progress |

No over-acting. Strong base in reality.
If someone's spaceships keep blowing up, what kind of car should they sell? |

(a) Global warming is not necessarily what caused previous extinction events . It is the change they see coming now . (b) Can you imagine what happens when the temperature changes by 10 F in a decade or so? Or when a massive asteroid or climate hits the Earth? Or when a large supervolcano erupts? Um... |

My point is that Earth survived even extreme events caused due to natural problems. But the results were still mass extinction events. And what we are seeing now is happening with causes more than extreme natural events and therefore much more likely to be very, very bad events worse than the previo... |

I was not questioning what you said but rather the robustness of the U.S. nuclear war systems. Whether the passcodes/passwords had been strong or weak, in 1979-1980, I don't think it would've mattered. The computers really did say WWIII had started and it had nothing to do with weak passwords. It w... |

So you agree that, on this topic, the past does not foretell the future? |

Wargames (1983) I enjoyed in 1983. I enjoyed less in the 2000s. I enjoyed it more today. Not as much as in 1983, but I found it more enjoyable than twenty years ago. My only actual gripe is the code for the nuclear missiles. It could/should be better, but by 1983 standards it was probably c... |

While some indications may have been there when I was young it would not have suggested Asperger's...which was not added to the DSM 'til 1994, the year I turned 40. I was just "weird". |

I agree climate has always changed. Dinosaurs had forest fires. Dinosaurs had geologic changes. Dinosaurs cut down whole forests to make space for agriculture. Dinosaurs pumped huge quantities of petrochemicals out of the Earth and burnt them. Dinosaurs mined mountains of coal and burnt it. Nothing ... |

Welcome to WP. I hope you like it here...and in college. (The key for me was to remember it was transient. I had to work hard to get through it but I knew there was an end to it coming.)
