No, we're talking at cross purposes, sorry. I'm talking about irony. It's ironic that a greedy CEO has to tell the government to back off. The government is meant to control businesses, not the other way round. (although we all know this particular government is being controlled by billionaires, bu...

I've totally given up on finding new friends. I either end up with friends who turn nasty, or I meet nice people who aren't interested in being friends.

I'm focusing on myself now and doing things I enjoy, never mind finding friends.

Incidentally, Liz Truss is in Prague today talking about the need to find common ground with Europe and reset relations. Nothing to do with us needing to import energy from the continent to keep the lights on this winter. Suddenly they're our friends. Europe would be totally justified in telling us...

Choice Fatigue

Why is everything so complicated with so many decisions?

WTF

I feel your pain! Honestly! The human brain isn't designed to deal with so many choices, it is indeed extremely tiring. No wonder the human race is going insane- too many choices and information overload!

urgh. What is wrong with people? They post a comment which is vaguely worded and ambiguous. I reply: I don't understand what you mean. They either ignore it or just Like it, without explaining. Why? Why not just clearly explain it? Maybe I should just write: I don't understand your comment, please c...

I can relate to you as I have been a stay at home mum for 16 years. It wasn't meant to be like this but we tried part time jobs/ part time parenting and just ended up running in and out all the time. 'Hi!' 'Bye!' 'Hi! What does the baby need? Bye!' My husband or I would run in from a day job, have a...

If only there was a massive bloc of countries nearby that we could trade with tariff free. That would surely lead to a bit of growth?

Hm, yes...now where could we find that? Maybe Scandinavia? I'm not sure...

^ Call me cynical, but I suspect he's not crazy, but just using a crafty double-bluff. He knows the gov isn't going to tax him, but it makes him look like a good person if he begs for that to happen. If he really wants to help Britain, he can proactively lower his prices, donate his personal fortun...

Britain is seriously going crazy these days. And this is the craziest thing I've read today. The CEO of Shell has called on the government to tax oil and gas companies in order to protect the poorest people in society from soaring energy costs https://news.sky.com/story/cost-of-living-shell-boss-cal...

The one who scares me the most now is the home secretary, Suella Braverman. “I would love to have a front page of The Telegraph with a plane taking off to Rwanda, that’s my dream, it’s my obsession,” Ms Braverman said. This means that her dream and obsession is deporting refugees to Rwanda. Abused, ...

This is what will happen with private healthcare- the rich people will hoard the best doctors, hospitals etc. leaving the worse ones for the poor people. That also perfectly describes the current system we have. Private hospitals are eye opening. I'm not arguing with you. I owe the NHS my life and ...

Sadly I think you are correct. Soon humans won't have to interact with other humans at all.

I think a lot of it is projection. People projecting their faults onto other people, or overreacting to the slightest hint of their fault showing in the other person.

My mum always says I'm oversensitive, but actually it's her that I have to tread on eggshells with. This must apply to friends too.
