Fixed a Dyson vacuum cleaner. It's still crap but at least it works now.

May I also add that I asked if she wanted to go swimming with me a couple months later and the answer again was no. In future I wouldn't recommend swimming as a date suggestion. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of women wouldn't want to go swimming with a person they've just met and don't really kn...

I went home yesterday, to where I lived when I was growing up, and wandered around a bit. But it felt wrong because it was cloudy and damp yesterday, and when I recall those places in my memories it's always sunny and warm. It's almost as if the brightness of the sun burns those memories into your m...

I saw Halleys comet when I was 6 at the start of my life. I remember thinking at the time that I'd be an old man if I ever saw it again (81 years old). I hope I get there. That'd be a nice way to bookend a life.

I think it's just expected. And not without reason. The vast majority of people couple up, whether they do so within some kind of legal or religious framework or just because. We're kind of hard-wired to do it, since the perpetuation of our species depends on it. Animals do it too. I don't know if C...

I'd say you're wasting your time looking for an explanation. Humans do all sorts of weird things for all sorts of weird reasons. If one is acting in a way that confuses you, unless you ask them directly what's going on, you'll never know. And even if you do ask you don't know they'll answer honestly...

I can't do it either. Not without my tongue in my cheek.

I will say this though, my tongue fits really well in my cheek.

As for my origonal post on this thread, observations shouldn't be considered as sexist generalisations. That's fair enough but people should learn how to couch their observations in language that clearly flags that's what it is. All too often we see statements that generalise entire genders present...

In online life, as in real life, I prefer to be around fewer people. Those big sites, even subdivided down, are impenetrable to me. Sometimes if I search for something google will find the answer on reddit and I'll use it that way but I don't read it or post there. My understanding of 4Chan is that ...

Since it became the default in MS Word, most businesses use Fartpowder Sans.

What are bollards used for?

I don't think I've ever been attacked here. But I'm not that sensitive to these things. I've seen people on here claim to have been attacked when I've seen what's been written and I just think, "Why do you care?" I don't mean to invalidate anyone's response to anything, just to say that I ...

It won't automatically count against you. There's no rule in the UK that says autistic people can't adopt. I've looked into this a bit myself. But they will have questions about it. That's not a bad thing imo. They're not looking for reasons to refuse to let you adopt but they'll want to know that y...

Maybe I can't do everything I set my mind to, but I can do a helluva lot more than just sit on my butt and complain. I'm with Fnord on this one. I understand that people preaching positive mindsets can be annoying, particularly if you've had a few knock-backs. That said, I'd still prefer to approac...
