Ah, yes. I’m in Suffolk County (Deep 631), and the faux rednecks are certainly having a moment. It’s sad because moderate candidates of either party were casualties of this reactionary voting. Even with the propositions to be voted on, I was saddened (though not shocked), by the pervasive sentiment ...

My parents weren’t consistent caregivers, so their input was not requested. However, my grandmother unintentionally (being from a generation that wouldn’t really know anything about ASD) mentioned a few anecdotes that I wasn’t aware of that really stood out. She died a couple of months before my ass...

I don’t know if I was premature but, coincidentally, my AS brother and I were the two who were low-birth weight with the cord wrapped around our respective necks. Our other siblings were all born uneventfully and at normal birth weight.

Even a lot of people in their 20s here seem to be awaiting a diagnosis. I mean, how did they manage to slip through the cracks growing up with autism in the 1990s-2000s? How come I had to be strictly under family support services from age 7-18 and had no friends as a teenager? I didn't have special...

I don’t know. It could be just a “girl crush” or aesthetic appreciation; not necessarily sexual, but more like appreciative of her beauty. I have found that, while there is a wide variety in men I find attractive, I am much more specific in the type of woman I find attractive. It’s very rare, but ev...

1. I’d like that veggie loaf recipe; sounds like Amy’s veggie loaf from the frozen section (yum!)

2. I had a similar experience being handed a cheese dog at a BBQ; I had never seen such a culinary abomination, and my New England-bred politeness was at war with my hatred of both hot dogs and cheese.

So what's the difference today? For starters, a bunch of pinko commie liberals decided that it is no longer acceptable to offer up one’s virgin daughters to slake the sexual appetites of a bunch of inhospitable dudes demanding butt sex. But, then again, maybe if they had been adequately traumatized...

I wonder if 96% of WP posters would agree that the pandemic is not over. :chin: The US seems the only place in which such a belief is widely held. Some US based members of WP may truly believe such a thing. Could that be 4% of total? Actually, it has just occurred to me that there is one I can thin...

Hello, I was very much in the same place just a few months ago. I’ll be honest, part of me was so attached to a prospective diagnosis, that I was worried how I would handle it if I was wrong. I’m not sure how it works on your side of the pond (like if you can pick your diagnostician), but I did a lo...

Because lot of women fear men is why. They are afraid to fight back because they worry the guy will hurt them more like murder them or beat them for them saying no and resisting. Yes you heard me, women are afraid of men. They see them as monsters. That is why they pretend to be interested in a guy...

To paraphrase an old saying, the only thing necessary for evil to proliferate is for its victims to do nothing. I would rephrase that: ...for the Community to do nothing. [...] Before the "community" can do anything, the victim has to report it. I’m not sure if you’ve read the subtext tha...

I am sorry ... this topic hits close to home ... if even one of the other victims of the man who raped and strangled my childhood friend had come forward right away, maybe she would still be alive today. Ultimately the responsibility for the actions lays with the one committing them, not their terr...

Attention is one thing. Harassment and assault are another. The former is a natural, biological response to visual stimuli, while the latter are crimes. You are not responsible for someone else's sex crimes. Full stop.

Northern New England accent, which is kind of an amalgam of Yankee and Atlantic Canadian
