Can't see too much in the DSM5 BPD criteria that matches up with ASD criteria, even a lack of empathy. Borderlines are said to have little or no affective empathy and a significant amount of cognitive empathy. Autist people are said to have significant affective empathy and little or no cognitive em...

Thanks for that Kuze This is something that I have reflected on at length. I think that its something more nuanced than simply being drawn to people who are predictable, loyal and apparently accepting. If we look at a psychodynamic model of EUPD/BPD then it could be said that the persons core belie...

My wife has emotionally unstable personality disorder which is how its labelled in these parts. The best I can describe it is that as someone close at hand its like sitting on the summit of a volcano. She was only recently diagnosed. When we first got together she seemed able to mask or utilise var...

BPD is said to occur in 1.6% of the population, thats over 50% more than schizophrenia for example. However, I dont think its had much visibility in the last few years on WP. Why is that? I have read about and experienced others with BPD and I think one of the taboo issues with it is the name 'borde...

If you just blindly accept that whatever is going on with you can be explained by something ambiguously labeled as "burnout", you might end up wasting time and effort barking up the wrong tree. On the contrary, it's not that "burnout" explains what you and I or someone else are ...

Hello there. I'm a 30yo woman who has had a late ASD diagnosis. I've struggled almost my whole life with depression, being officially diagnosed with it when I was 14 or 15. Recently my therapist began exploring the theory that perhaps my depressive episodes could actually be long burnout episodes, ...

Hi Crystal It's 5am in Northern England and the rain hasn't stopped for 5 days. My cats Couscous and Chez tend to spend a lot of time outside playing hide and seek etc. Couscous has been out all night, probably holed up on a hey stack in a farmers barn. Chez, being older, prefers the soft furnishing...

[/quote]Holy s**t.. that's it! That's what's driving me mad; this new trauma.. I need help, legally and mental health-wise, as they've broken me and I can't trust hospitals at any capacity to treat my current meltdowns and suicidality.. because that trust has been violated.. I've been violated.. my ...

Dorkseid, if I had half my life without a decent partner I would want to find why, and I wouldn't stop util I had some credible answers. Forums are a decent sticky plaster when things go dark, but actual help with this is going to take speaking to a human with experience and knowledge in this area....

Interesting that everyone here is saying to stick with oddball/outcast women. I'm starting to realize my lack of success is likely due to the fact that I'm a sucker for trendy "basic girls" like this :P https://www.insidehook.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/CGA.jpg?fit=1500%2C1000 How do w...

Hey SandWitch, How are you feeling this morning? I got up at 6am to see what the cats were doing, Chez was pretending to be asleep outside my bedroom door, stretching out, arching her back vying for attention as per usual and as soon as she's had enough strokies she's like 'Enough! wheres my god dam...

They say (whoever 'they' are) that you should do something every day that scares you and you did it so well done! Social anxiety can be a difficult barrier to lift. The thing is when your mental health issues are for life, every time you face the same problem you have to deal with the same issues ov...
