Well, good realtionships at workplace are a real nice thing to have and can make the difference. Bad realtionships on the other hand can even get you to change your job and give you lots of trouble and headaches. With temporary people the good thing is that they may not be there for long, so if some...

Glad someone out there is actually improving and figuring out what things are actually worth. I do struggle inmensly with money, there are some jobs that I found stupidly easy and that I charge too little for only for later seeing someone doing a WAY WAY worse job than me and making 5 times as much....

Well, the title says it all I guess. I'm so stupid... so stupid. I'm not ready to tell anyone exactly what I've done but beforehand... no, it does not carry any other consequences than my own emotional pain, haven't killed anyone nor started smoking or anything of the sort. Not at all, thankfully, b...

I think what scares me the most about having no friends is: what will happen to me if my husband dies before me? Our daughter will hopefully be grown up living her own life and I'll be alone with no friends or family. It is a very scary thought. No decent human would ever leave his/her mother unles...

I wouldn't work in a bar if I were you, it's an awful job. Hopefully you can find something more suitable.

I've said it as an example, I'm not as suicidal as to even think of applying to a bar.

Thanks, that is much clearer! At least I'm doing what I'm passionate about. So far the like minded people are online only, but maybe that'll change  Have you tried freelancing? That can be well paid :) It takes change for things to change, being a bit selfish and "forcing" your fami...

That was quite a long comment, can you summarise it, SpaceMartian? Summarise it? Ok, 4 points (plus a bonus). - 95% of individuals you'll encounter are boring -> can be found everywhere -> they just let pass time -> won't be bothered to incorporate you in their live -> You don't want them either. -...

I'm 54 (55 in 3 months) and one thing I've observed is that in my 20s it was easy to make friends (even female ones) but now it's impossible (and I have a wife and a daughter too). Younger people see me as invisible as they can't relate to older people. Also our opinions don't matter to them. Older...

The second hand market also has many many gems. Those T400 ThinkPads can be found very cheap but they still got it. Many laptops just need a cleanup and a new SSD to replace the old slow HDD and they'll do fine for a few years. If you plan on runnig Linux, even better, more options available. Yes t...

What were you doing in the “Formula Student Team”? I bet you have much more to “offer” than you think you do. You sound like a bright guy. So what if one relationship didn’t work out! Why are you giving up? Well I don't know if I sound bright but last night I went downstairs to grab some water and ...

It's hard to say. A couple of things I can note: Using a friend as a psychologist or therapist doesn't usually go well because it puts a lot of onus on that person, and they usually distance because it is too much for them to deal with. Having one session of venting can be okay (not even anyways, b...

Well to be truly friends with someone, you both need to have similar interest and opinions. I have 0 knowledge about "how to make friends" and such, but I now that I'm probably doing none by looking at random people in the bar or in the town square. I don't need lots of friends yet I'm hap...

I've been getting reconditioned laptops for a few years. Much cheaper and if you can find a good company recommended by Microsoft or Apple or whoever, you'll be well looked after. The second hand market also has many many gems. Those T400 ThinkPads can be found very cheap but they still got it. Man...

First things first, and for anyone surprised to see me here. I never had a girlfriend and I don't want one, not now, not in the past, probably not ever. They want us to buy newer stuff so now they say fuel cars are the worst. 20 years ago it was gasoline, nowadays diesel is much worse. All in the name of making sure money keep ruling. I don't like electric cars, yes the electric engine is better full stop, but the batteries are a problem. Up until b...
