Feel free to PM me if you need to talk at all; I went through it about a year ago so know the process. :)

In theory, if you fell pregnant? Or you are pregnant now and going to abort? If so, I hope you're ok and you've got a good support network. It's a horrible situation. :(

Perhaps, I just don't think the benefits ever outweigh the risks. That said, if there really genuinely is no other option then perhaps... I wouldn't recommend an abortion to anyone, they're bloody awful.

Exactly why I won't get a coil myself. Can I ask why he can't use condoms? Medical reason, or just doesn't like the smell/feel/allergic to latex (there are other options...). You could always look into a diaphragm [used with spermicide] - they usually refuse to give them to anyone who hasn't had a c...

Condoms ARE as safe as the pill if used properly. Condoms - 98% effective, more so if used with spermicide or used at a time other than ovulation (i.e. roughly the week before or after the period). Contraceptive pill - 98% effective. If condoms don't appeal, get a non-hormonal copper coil, which are...

Jehovah's Witnesses are against blood transfusions. Typically, they refuse to receive them under any circumstances. However, I do not know what they're stance(s) would be on giving them to other people, or letting other people receive them. I bet opinions would vary among individual followers of th...

Don't fool yourselves - if you're on the pill you are NOT having a period. It's a bleed so it doesn't build up too much. NOT a period. Periods are the body getting rid of the womb lining and egg if it's not been fertilised, ready to try again next time. The bleed you get on the pill is caused by a t...

Oh, and if a child was that ill like the girl in your story, I doubt ANY responsible herbalist would tell you anything other than get her to a hospital and find out what's wrong, not 'keep giving her this product in high doses that's obviously not working, even though she's clearly extremely sick'. ...

I found it irritating too. We do need to remember though that this person is (thankfully) locked in a high-security hospital for mentally ill people, and if they said that but didn't state what the illness was it would leave questions and wouldn't be good journalism on their part. So they do need to...

Unless anyone has ever had crippling pain from being of their period stop your bitching. Ding. I can't leave the house. I think the people talking about how wonderful it is to be a woman need to shut the f**k up and imagine what it must be like to be curled up in fetal position with a half empty bo...

Perhaps; I just think it's sad someone would hate their body's natural process - that which makes you a woman - so much that they'd want to essentially de-sex themselves to get rid of it. It's such a nasty, modern, medicalised, patriarchal view of the female body. It actually makes me feel ill that ...

If there was something to cut out my anxiety, I'd be all for that. Other than that, I've managed to embrace my autistic traits and turn them into good things, so it doesn't bother me. Had you asked me if it did ten years ago, however, there'd be a much different answer. How about something to just s...

Girl, your period is not a disease! Western women have this idea that it's some kind of an inconvenience or an illness that can just be got rid of - it isn't, it's how our bodies are meant to function and behave, and it shouldn't be any kind of a problem. If it is, you've likely got some hormonal p...
