The biggest problem with therapy is that it relies far too heavily on hints , which a patient is supposed to intuitively pick up on. For instance, if a minor talks about his parents emotionally abusing him, and the therapist coos "awww", it's a hint for the minor to stop "whining&quo...

I think there are different varieties of autism and the symptoms can manifest in different ways depending on the person. My son's autism manifests as OCD-type. He has classic OCD behaviors like washing his hands over and over, but it's part of a bigger complex of autistic behaviors. You also have OC...

Hello. I'm sorry you're feeling bad. I know how hard all of this can be sometimes. I think we are all souls stuck in bodies. There are beautiful souls in ugly bodies and ugly souls in beautiful bodies and of course beautiful souls in beautiful bodies and all other varieties... But a body is a useful...

Options for what? Having kids? They could adopt or marry someone with kids. Or they could live without kids.

I'm posting this here, rather than in the Parents' Forum, to get a wider range of opinions. Nearly every parenting article I read says that a parent should "validate" or "understand" their child's feelings. For instance, "I understand that you're frustrated that you can't g...

Why would she call CPS over that? CPS takes kids if their LIVES are in danger, not because their parents insulted them.

50% chance that the child will be a boy and 50% chance the child will be a girl. Same as for all other people when they have children.

What if they have all girls or vice versa?

I don't know what you are trying to ask. If they have all girls, then they can buy a lot of pretty dresses and paint the nursery pink, if they want to. If they have all boys, they can paint it blue. But children are wonderful whether girls or boys.

50% of sperm carry an X chromosome that results in girl babies, and 50% of sperm carry a Y chromosome that makes a boy baby.

Autistic people make sperm and eggs just like everyone else, so they make girl and boy babies just like everyone else.

Well, I can understand needing to sketch out your ideas for Human Resource Machine on paper. It has some really tricky levels.

I feel like I think better with a pencil in my hand... Don't know why!

Well, then they would have a bunch of boys!

I'm not sure what you are trying to ask. Sometimes people have only boys, yes. Sometimes they have only girls. It's random.

Most people I know actually seem pretty nice. Everyone has their failings, of course. We all have things we struggle with. But most people seem to want to be good. Like my neighbor-lady. She is often a little grumpy. But she also mows other people's lawns for them if they are sick. She's given me fl...
