Knowing how the world works, they'll be like: "yes, your flying skills are amazing and you were correctly able to handle every contingency we could throw at you in the flight sim.... but we didn't like that you didn't make eye contact and shake our hands so we are not hiring you."

I'm going to give you a different angle here. You can either 1) try harder or 2) plan to leave. Thats it. If the manager is halfway decent, it can be ok. If the manager is not... I took a job once that started out really poorly. The manager had a really toxic style. It took me some time to adjust to...

Nope, and also the House is GOP controlled.

I voted for him four times now (two elections, two runoffs). His commercials really developed this last one. He has a humorous side and he did this bit where he showed up at someone's Thanksgiving dinner to ask for votes and said "if I don't get enough votes, this is what your Thanksgiving will...

You do realize this is around revenge porn right? His laptop was basically stolen and broken into, its absurd that this is even a story. The real story is the complete lack of respect for their customer's property shown by the repair shop. But you know what - I won't vote for Hunter Biden. The poin...

More likely than not, you're just going to find are embarrassing things about a man with terrible addiction problems. The idea that conservatives have that the Clinton emails and "stolen votes for Trump" are somehow on the laptop is nothing but ridiculous. There seems to be a focus on the...

I had read other reviews that said they did not like the style of the storytelling. Its done by the same guy that did Moulin Rouge, so it has a similar "ADHD" style where its constantly switching scenes. It has a high energy going through out the film. It had a consistent homage to the Bla...

The fact is, when you buy a gun you are more likely to die from that gun you just bought than you are to use it to save your life. Cite? I'll even give you a hint; the study that gave us the talking point you just used was highly flawed and debunked in the 90s, yet people still mindlessly parrot th...

A lot of graduate school depends on other professors giving you a chance. If you get a professor to like you, they will give you access to data sets and such that you couldn't get otherwise. I agree with this too. It's all about making connections to ensure funding and opportunities. To make those ...

I think most of my "mental energy" was taken up trying to figure out social stuff for most of my life and there really wasn't much left over. This is really well put. I never thought of it that way before, but it's so true. It's not that I wanted a social life, but I still ruminated over ...

Well... I have a PhD in Economics but I'd say generally I consistently underachieved. Amongst PhD economists I am probably average if not below average. For example, if you have a PhD in Economics and don't have any publications, basically you are a failed PhD in that you never should have been give...

I used to run a lot and still occasionally do. Walking is more sustainable and you can think while doing it. Running also tends to make you hungry afterwards so its easy to eat the calories back. Then theres the wear and tear - if you run enough over a lifetime by the time you get older you might ha...

I don't think its necessarily related.

Feeling depressed now and then is normal, its when its long term and causes you to stop doing things in life that it becomes problematic.

Have you tried drinking coffee?
