What you are espousing is a common fallacy - the idea that "this current generation is the worst." Its a form of "nowism" where you think that today is somehow more special than the past or the future. WW3 is not likely to start anytime soon. Russia couldn't even take Ukraine. Od...

I am married now, with 4 kids and one on the way. If I could now, I would go back and tell my past self to enjoy the quiet more. Biology has us all programmed to want to have kids and once that happens your life is f_cked. . If that's the way you feel about having kids, why did you have 4 with a 5t...

Hello! I have 4 kids, and three are diagnosed nonverbal autistic. We knew around at 6 months for the oldest. Each kid is different. My oldest girl is 7 and an agent of chaos. She is like this punk kid that just wants to destroy things and cause havoc. My youngest girl is about to turn three and she ...

Then there's my wife's (adopted) brother. He is a giant POS - been to prison and is a registered sex offender. Somehow always has a different girl in his life, and they all could do a lot better. He's got one kid he doesn't take care of. Now that is the stuff that drives you crazy when you are in i...

You got people in really poor countries who have kids like they are going for the record and its only in rich countries we stop to think "can you afford it?" I don't think people have kids to keep up with neighbors. I have 4 kids and one on the way. Both my wife and I grew up in a family t...

I worry about how much we have trashed the planet with all our plastic, and the number of trees that get cut down every day to make toilet paper and other essential things, and all the scraps of metal and everything that can't be broken down. I worry about the fumes from all the traffic, yet I worr...

Chris, with all due respect, it is not that the "world hasn't ended yet, even though people have been sounding the alarms", it is that certain things are indeed getting worse, and have been for much longer than just the past 30 years. The powers that be use EVERYTHING at their disposal to...

Women want different things. Sex means different things to different people. Not everyone wants to have children. (One was enough for me.) With that being said, being proactive and finding ways to grow and develop as a person certainly wouldn’t hurt. Having goals and/or interests one is passionate ...

When I was 20 or so, the term did not exist. But, I can say in hindsight I was exhibiting incel like behavor. I am married now, with 4 kids and one on the way. When I was 20, I had just been dumped by my first love, and my brother died the year before. I started a downward trend in mental state that...

Good luck! In my experience raises come when you switch jobs, or at the very least have another offer in hand.

So what happened this weekend? Well, she told me today that someone that paid her for X amount of work wanted to cancel and wanted a refund for 2/3rds since she had only done 1/3rd. They paid ahead in full but decided to back out and wanted money back. She told me this - and then said she had a no ...

- no one owes you a conversation - women aren't prizes to be sought after as if you are trying to score in a game' - you are 22 and it doesn't make sense to date until you got your crap figured out. Don't date until you have your career figured out. If you ever do have a family, you will regret not ...

I can cheer you up. AI isn't worth worrying about. Nuclear war is unlikely. Over the past 100 years, the human condition had generally improved despite two world wars. Life is an order of magnitude better than it was in 1913. Sure, things aren't perfect. Even in the worst case of global warming, its...

Yeah money is the big anxiety inducer. Everything comes back to money. About the only thing worse is health problems.

I have a good career and money is one of my main worries still. I think if I ever get to the point where I am near retirement I will probably get sick and die hah

Yup. 1800s US was known as the period where an immigrant could come from poverty and get a bunch of land. To get that, it required killing off the natives.
