If many more 30-somethings all managed to save $50,000 it is likely that most of them wouldn't be able to buy starter homes! There is the problem of a limited supply of starter homes and numerous roadblocks in the way to prevent building more. What will happen is the price of the homes will rise. I... |

Cutting out Starbucks and investing the money saved in a index fund would be a good start. This sounds like when geezers blame avocado toast for why 30-somethings have no money. While it's not entirely bad advice if it's premise were true , it's completely out of touch and assumes that people are s... |

When I was young I did very, very well on IQ tests but was still very socially ret*d. Now, I’m older and not as smart as I once was but I’m better socially. Life, eh… Would suggest if you want to keeping making friends on WP then not use the r-word in your posts Well, in defense of the OP he didn't... |

I seem to feel as though time to think about retirement and doing a will is getting closer. I remember seeing ads online and on TV targeting those born between 1939 and 1975. I'm not in the target audience and in my 30s and I seem to feel as though I haven't had much experience with life as I didn'... |

I can relate, my best guess is that it has something to do with executive function. I think that when we a children we can thrive intellectually and academically because our parents help us take care of ourselves. Once you grow up your mind has to allocate more time and energy towards basic tasks li... |

Oh yes, always wise to have a wad of cash around in case the electronic system fails, and for - ahem - private transactions. Don't get it nicked though, and watch out - they sometimes change the style of banknotes and eventually make the old notes hard to spend. I've never known it happen in the US... |

I would suggest getting a small safe, to keep a little emergency cash in. Or maybe just hiding it somewhere discreet like one of the other members mentioned. |

WAG stands for weird alone guy. I'm starting to think that the people I meet out in public think I am a WAG. I have noticed that I sometimes get strange looks from people while I am out and about. I think there is three main reasons for this: 1. I am out during odd times of the day like the middle o... |

I don't give money to panhandlers as a rule. It is usually either a scam of some sort or someone looking for drug money. Recently, I talked to a man who was asking for money outside of a Walmart. I approached him and asked about his reason for panhandling, the man explained that he was a refugee fro... |

I think the thing that folks don't really understand is, that I was perfectly capable of keeping up with the conceptual bits of high school physics on my own at age 8, but at age 44, I am still completely baffled as to how anybody knows when they're thirsty or how to set up a set of tasks and actual... |
