Hello all, I'd like some advice on how to process past social faux pas in a healthy way without beating myself up about it. I get so embarrassed and ashamed when I do or say the wrong thing. Unfortunately, it is in my nature to sometimes get caught up in the moment and say or do something out of exc...

Neither. If you need more interaction, go out more. If you need to retreat, retreat for awhile. You don't need to try to change yourself and also don't need to treat it as an either or. If you find you feel undersocialized, socialize more. It isn't trying to change yourself to acknowledge you have ...

There isn't really a standard unit for it in psychology, though our brain runs on glucose, nobody actually measures "mental energy" in grams of sugar or anything. I agree, it's not an exact science by any means. Mostly my brain is pretty much unstoppable if I'm conscious at all, but I usua...

I'm a father, and my son seems to be doing well for himself - he's got a reasonably well-paid job and lives with his girlfriend. He's got lots of nice toys and hobbies, and they go on holiday a lot. He's got several friends and he's close to them. As far as I can tell he's reasonably happy and heal...

I think it is probably a bad idea for a lot of folk with ASD to have children, particularly ASD folk who don't earn much/have much money to raise their kids properly without seeking welfare support. And with the state of the employment market currently and the property market, things are difficult ...

If you have had kids, how do you feel about your decision? Are you happy about your decision or do you regret it? If you do not want have kids, what was your reasoning behind that decision? If you are planning or intend to have kids in the future, are you worried that your children will inherit your...

Congratulations on your new apartment! I hope to be in a similar situation in the next couple of years. I can completely relate to needing your own space. I feel that many of us Aspies benefit from independent living more than NT’s because of sensory issues and the pressure of constantly having to m...

Why is it men want to fool around with you so fast without knowing you? One guy I met yesterday. That's just how men are. Generally speaking, men want sex first then relationship whereas women usually want relationship first then sex. It's the old battle of the sexes and it's been going on for thou...

I don't know about beach towns in Canada, but I grew up in one in Florida and one of the good things about living in a tourist town is that people won't think you're weird for approaching them. They'll think you're friendly and welcoming. Y'know, the whole "be nice to the tourists so they come...

Hello all, So, I recently moved to a beach town. I was wondering if any of you gents out there have ever met any girls at the beach? And if so, did it lead to anything like dating, sex, etc? I am not particularly shy so approaching / talking to someone is not an issue. My only worry is that I may be...
