I tried to join Mensa over 30 years ago, but they didn't seem to have anyone who knew how to stuff an application form in an envelope.

I'm one of the fortunate autistic people who is able to understand sarcasm at least some of the time.

I choose not to use it around other autistic people, because they may take it literally, and that may lead to confrontation.

Airports are a nightmare for autistic people. What saves me is the departure board; as long as I'm within sight of one, I can put my headphones on and zone out, knowing that I won't miss my plane. Otherwise I just make sure I'm in control as far as possible, and keep all processes linear, making sur...

Was there a Windows NT. operating system ? ever?? Yes it was the precursor to our present-day Windows operating system. At first it was marketed to "enterprise" users. Its precursor, in turn, was the VMS operating system. In parallel, DOS-based versions of Windows were marketed to consume...

At an airport near me, you drive in via an automatic gate that reads your licence plate. When it recognises you have pre-paid, it opens and lets you in, without issuing a ticket. From there to the terminal, you are bombarded with electronic billboards at roadside and on the shuttle bus, reminding yo...

Since she's gone im at loss, and I think it was covid vaccine that finally did it. I saw some Pfizer scandals on YouTube and then JF Kennedy talking about vaccines causing autism. It's at times of grief and stress that we are most vulnerable to misinformation. Please don't get your news from YouTub...

<derail> Folks - can we please stop linking through click farms? There's been a spate of it recently. 1. It gives garbage people revenue while depriving the content owners of said revenue. 2. People who have spam blockers installed often can't hit the URL at all, and we have to go and google the con...

Please do invite them. Don't hate them. Forgive them all their wrongs, whether real or imagined. Married people don't understand single people. NTs don't understand NDs. And vice versa. NTs don't know what to say to us, whether it's the right thing or the wrong thing, and whether it will upset us. Y...

Once again: I have no right to tell Americans to vote. All I ask is: please be careful where you get your news. By all means watch a conservative-leaning channel, but balance it with the liberal-leaning view as well. (In Britain that would be Sky v. BBC.) Never watch a news channel specifically set ...

Whether AI is now, or will in the future be, useful to the human race, isn't the point right now. What is is that the current corporate-driven hype around AI is nothing but grift. Don't be the one left holding the paper when the bubble bursts. And be very aware that far-right tech-bros can crash the...

It's definitely worth looking at. Grandin talks of 'pattern thinkers', 'picture thinkers' etc. and how she as an autistic person can have extreme difficulty handling information presented in a way her brain isn't wired for. I can identify. As a tech geek, if you give me an algorithm presented as a b...

It's like the old question 'What do you want to be when you grow up?'

I don't bloody know. Ask me again in ten years.
