TBH, I think in general if the term is "reconverting" the answer ought to be just no unless there's a real reason to do it. It's one thing to drift away from ones religious beliefs as a kid, but quite another to affirmatively leave the religion.

The whole point of it is as a response to people claiming that people have it mild.

I do think it's kind of a dumb term and getting less and less meaningful over time.

Not enough of them to get him reelected in 2028! No one I know here is interested in going to Trump's American scream. TBH, if it were anywhere near as bad as Musk is suggesting, I'd expect for there to be far more white South Africans abroad than there are. I encounter them occasionally, but even ...

But the ANC certainly has failed the people and the people have begun to respond to the ANC's failure to provide a better life for them. They have been between a rock and a hard place hence lately been trying to patch up the cracks by avoiding load shedding among other things, and pretending to be ...

My friend has been diagnosed with ADHD. She thinks she’s also on the autism spectrum but has learned to mask so well that it’s very unlikely she would get a diagnosis now. Is that true? Surely if you are autistic then it can be picked up at any age, even if it presents itself differently. A lot of ...

I've dated people from different backgrounds and would do so again.

It can be a lot of work, but it's also cool the access you get to other views.

I don't believe anyone can be the son (or daughter) of any gods, given that gods don't exist.

Probably originally, I don't know that that's how the term is used these days though.

I can recall once in the late 70s hearing it said on the news that there was no major conflict happening anywhere in the world at that time. I suppose that may have been right before the USSR invaded Afghanistan? I think it was a very brief episode of unusual world peace. It hardly ever happens, an...

He's 85 years old. Not sure how long he'll survive beyond any possibility of prosecution? Its horrible to imagine how much these poor women put up with his assaults - one woman endured it for 12 years. Robinson picked on these women because they were likely undocumented, being paid below minimum wa...

Yep, typically performing to what you consider to be 90% of perfect is plenty. If you can't identify both a point where it will be perfect and a viable path to getting there, perfection is too high a standard.

these bloodyminded sorts who insist on shoving square pegs through round holes just don't get the fact that the working class can't afford kids, and the middle class increasingly can't either. I have the bad feeling that if the handmaid's tale crowd takes over in full, orphanages are gonna be a gro...

It just seems really stupid to be studying something like the model T and not think at all about the various statistics related to car ownership versus later periods. Or, when comparing the impact that various vehicles have. Do you mean descriptive statistics? sure historians do that all the time. ...

That's not science though. That's what historians do. Part of why science is the sort of mess it is now is that things that either aren't science have been allowed to pretend to be or things like psychology have been allowed to have super low standards. Historians generally don't do statistical ana...

Saw the new tales of the Underworld - cool Andor is hard work. I am not sure I can watch episodes 4, 5 and 6. I've heard Andor is good, it's a shame that so much of the rest of the recent Star Wars stuff has been crap or narrowly targeted at people that obsess over lore. I rather liked Obi Wan Keno...
