Tonight, I finally gave in and installed that game on my computer and...nothing bad happened. Sure, there's a folder called DRM in the program folder, but i'm sure its not as "scary" as I thought it'd be. I see no new things in my Task Manager, and the game even runs pretty smoothly! Now the next hu...

Nambo, you used "img" tags instead of "url" tabs for that BBC link. Anyway, this is pretty sad. I know he's been sick with MS for at least 20 years, but its still quite a shock. I hope his family gets a good amount of money from the inevitable post-death record sales bump. Certainly reminds me to gi...

Libertarian, with some anarcho-capitalist leanings. I would be a member of the national Libertarian party, but IIRC, they want my money to do so. In elections I support/vote for those whose views I support the most. I've voted for Democrats and i've voted for Republicans. Its a shame third parties d...

Instead of the Firefox asking if I want to change the password for "DocStrange" after I change my password, it asks me if I want to save a password for "d M d, Y g:i a", the Forum Date Format instead.

I used NoScript for a while, but didn't like it that much. It didn't need that much security. What didn't you like about it? I know setting it up to allow scripts from your regular sites is a bit annoying at first, but once that's done it's rarely an inconvenience. It does a pretty solid job of blo...

I used NoScript for a while, but didn't like it that much. It didn't need that much security. A few days ago I bought "Plants vs. Zombies" for my PC from Walmart (I don't buy computer games all too often but I bought it because I liked it and it was cheap) and since then I've been too paranoid to ev...

Linux was an idea, and I know someone who could hook me up with some distribution, so next time I see him i'll ask him about it. I'm hoping to get over this by the time the blogs I still follow release their top songs of 2010 lists in a few weeks, so I can catch up with five months of music I missed...

For a long time I was worried that if I log on to a forum/gmail/other cloud site on a computer I perceived to have a problem, it would in turn cause a problem on not just that account, but also the next computer I log onto that account with. Once, I checked my mail on a computer I suspected of havin...

1. I have an antivirus. I use AVG on one and Avast on another. 2. I've been told over and over "getting a virus in an .mp3 file is impossible" but I never seem to remember that. 3. I download from blogs because the record industry either turns a blind eye to blogs, thinking them as free publicity or...

Yes, I think i've become Woody Allen. I'm a little embarrassed about telling people about this, too, but I thought that writing it all out would make me realize how bizarre this paranoia is. The bad part is that I had no bad experience that I can trace this back too. There is no virus at all. I have...

Most of the time I let them figure it out, if they didn't already know prior. What i've found is that some people have preconceived notions of someone who's autistic or has AS thanks to the media, and once I tell some people, I notice they act differently (usually they act overly nicer to me, which ...

I'm in General Studies at a community college, but when I go to a real college i'm changing my major to History with a minor in...teaching...or whatever that's major/minor is called? I've decided that i'm probably going to eventually teach US History at either a private school or a public school in ...

I've been using computers for 15 years, and thus the things i've worried myself with over the past few months shouldn't be bothering me, but it has. I had an old computer that was basically on its last legs anyway. It had a teeny hard drive, small memory and Windows 2000 and when it basically became...

I haven't been here for a while, and i've noticed that those drop down things (Autism Talk 12 is default open on the main forum page, but 11 still does what everyone's complaining about, and both do it on the subforums) still drop down quickly and then recoil (or however you would phrase that) whene...

firefox loads the content on a page before it loads the stylesheet so you're seeing everything in the new accordian menu display momentarily before firefox realizes its supposed to be collapsed. A ha! So I was wondering what that was! It isn't the "home page" that seems to be flashing up, it...

I loved this movie (went to see it twice, I don't remember the last time I saw a movie twice while it was in theaters) and its a shame it hasn't been making good money. I'm a fan of the graphic novels and I didn't mind that it crammed five books into one movie or really lessened the role of the whol...
