Exactly. Very dehumanizing. The brain is the most complicated object in the universe, and these people claim to understand it with surveys. History is replete with examples of how a lot of illnesses change with whatever politics is in fashion at the time. Being gay was an illness, I think there was ...

> but I think many are quite blind to how they affect their perception of and relationship with their clients. My impression of all the 4 therapists I met and know as friends is they would have definitely diagnosed and gossiped about a brilliant author or artist. It takes brainpower to be open minde...

This is bad therapy. The therapist is trying to get the autist to conform to NT standards of morality, which are pretty f*****g low if you look at the state of the world. NTs can just walk past social slights or moral problems with ease, but Autists *care*. It's part of who we are. We care deeply ab...

That's pretty bad. Real autists have real struggles.

But I think broadly there are common struggles that might trigger this.
Neoliberalism commodifies relationships causing loneliness. People are overworked and under socialised
causing loneliness and loss of connection.

It was an enjoyable film, although the characters were kind of jolty. I felt they had a bunch of messages to get across and they made the script around that rather than an actual plot. Lots of cringy pet-related stuff which I detest. I enjoyed the first film better. I am a bit squeamish when people ...

In my case, back when I thought it was just "social anxiety" I had, I spent 8 solid years manically grinding away at becoming more social. Result: burnt-out wreck with social skills no better than when I started. I too have spent way too long learning / "buliding a mask". Though...

I think that autistic people don't enjoy socialising / manipulating other peoples emotions for good/bad/fun
as much as they enjoy gathering information and developing their special interest.

That means they are closer to nerds than others.

The US and EU never gave enough support to defeat Russia, only enough to prolong the war, they also don't give indefinite asylum. This means they may as well have not given anything, as we have now seen, resulting in many unnecessary deaths. I spoke with a Ukrainian the other day. He is of the same ...
