Conservatives benefit when they're in opposition only to gain power and then prove to be an incompetent disaster. I just don't understand how people keep on falling for it. No, the right is not interested in bringing grocery prices or gas prices down. No, they do not care about the working class. T...

In my mid teens my family went to Washington D.C. and Baltimore, MD one year and Southern California the next. I enjoyed both of these trips thoroughly. The former especially because I'm a history nerd and getting to see historical landmarks in addition to the museums in DC was so awesome!! (this wa...

It's been a beautiful snowy day in Central/Western CT! I think where I'm at we topped around 4 inches. Some areas got up to 8.

Stravinsky/Agosti - The Firebird Suite

Oh, a piano version?

I got to play Firebird Suite in college and I loved it. A number of pretty oboe solos in there that I very much enjoyed playing!

If the parents know about it and are willing to pay for it, why should anyone care? I wonder what way a conservative court is going to rule?(sarcasm) Apparently the "parents' rights" that conservatives clamor for include knowing if a minor is identifying as transgender in school, but does...

I am unemployed. There will be no Christmas shopping this year. I love getting gifts for people so this breaks my heart. Not the first time I have been in this situation. I just didn't think it would take me this long to get a job... Grrr. I just want to work and make money. Why do I have to g...

Got an unexpected dusting of snow here this evening. This is not even the first time we got snow without any warning within the last week or so! Lol Although this is the first time we got any accumulation out of it.

Tomorrow night snow is predicted, 1-3 inches in my area.

Long ago I came out to my then best friend and then in the months after that I gradually fell for her and we got into a relationship. I fell hard for her and I thought it was reciprocated, but the relationship didn't last long. So it ended in heartbreak. She said she loved me, too, so I don't know w...

I guess I am completely out of touch. I always thought the President was supposed to set a good example of morals to emulate. Now we have a rapist, felon, and a person who cheated on his wife with a porn star and a leader who thinks it's OK to grab a woman by the puxxy. According to him they love i...

To be fair, not everyone has survived. The Trump admin's disastrous handling of COVID caused lots of deaths, and the overturning of Roe v Wade has led to many women dying from preventable deaths. We made it here, but we are privileged to have done so. We shouldn't treat the second Trump term like th...

^^Ah, yes. Static electricity is awful. I've been noticing it some days more than others. Since we have an extended period of temperatures in the 30s starting I think I'll be dealing with it again soon. Saw a little snow in Connecticut as I was doing the last lawn mowing of the year! Ran the engine ...

My life over the past several years has seen a major positive breakthrough and lots of change. It'd be hard for me to properly convey all of that.

The breakthroughs I'm looking for right now, though are: A job, an apartment of my own, deciding on my career, and finding a partner.

My family and pets (I consider them part of the family, of course, but had to note them separately)
To live in Connecticut instead of the red state I lived in previously
My health (I've had some scares and am glad that everything has turned out fine)

Got some light snow (no accumulation) today in central-western CT. It was bizarre because it was like 43 degrees! Like all day yesterday it was in the 30s and rained, but today it's in the 40s and snowed? I understand some details about meteorology (one could say it was hyperfocus of mine as a child...

I'm fortunate that none of my close family are MAGATs. There are some on my dad's side, but they're extended family that I so rarely see.
