I've been writing up one of these a day for a year now in a diary, and it does help me feel better about life. 1. I'm glad that I noticed I had gotten into a rut, and went on a long bicycle tour to find a new location. 2. I'm glad that I used to go for walks late at night, and turn off the headligh... |

Columnist John Duffie wrote that if he had to choose a single book for the rest of his life, he'd take a dictionary, for all the memories it would evoke. I knew a businessman who would read the Yellow Pages when he didn't have work. |

I don't mind stickers, but whenever I have to break a seal on a new container, I curse the crook who made them necessary. What's the problem with stickers? Size? Appearance? Surface roughness? How about paint or decals, or complete vinyl wraps? Stick on letters for signs? Most signs are stick-on now... |

The Meyer-Drake engine, which ruled Indianapolis for decades, was revealed in a dream. I have only had a couple of lucid dreams. More often, I notice that I'm dreaming while I'm still thinking I need to fall asleep. One odd thing that happens as I fall asleep is that my hearing shuts off, but it jus... |

Yes, it's called Zen, Bering in the zone, in the groove, concentrating, etc. Lots of people do it. People can get totally in the groove and pop out at the end of the song. There are also examples of race car drivers performing far beyond normal limits, and of people lifting amazing loads in an emer... |

I'd call it "Savant Mode." I got there a lot more often before I learned that stupid people are dangerous. I just can't keep all the memory registers concentrated on one task now. Scott Adams (Dilbert) notes that it can take engineers hours to remember what they were doing each morning, an... |

Come to think of it, I should probably have told my ex that she had decorated the house very nicely, but I was in a Buddhist phase. However, I regret dwelling on all negatives, so I'm going to start a thread on what I'm glad about. |

I had a classic missed opportunity to get better acquainted with a woman, but it only hit me years later, and just seems funny. I did notice enough more persistent ones to know that it is not always a blessing. I did waste a lot of years giving people the benefit of the doubt, but it did give me a b... |

"Do what you love and the money will follow." The people who went broke don't have a soapbox to say this from. Those who do were lucky to find a patron, and not a pirate manager. It really helps if you like to do stuff that rich people enjoy showing off. Racing cars, not homeless shelters.... |

You are confusing incidents with trends. We didn't have most glaciers in retreat until our own lifetimes. People used to wonder how U shaped valleys were formed; now they are being revealed constantly. |

Man Made Climate Change is a false narrative. <snip> Try telling that to the residents of Lytton, BC, which broke the Canadian temperature record by huge increments on three days in a row, and then burned down so fast people had to run from the flame front. Then, I spent a month preoccupied with st... |

^^ There were a few years where I didn't want to write up my research, because I was using that undone chore as a reason to stay alive. |

I believe in climate change, and it hurts me. I studied ecology theme so much, and it's a big problem in our world. The government doesn't realize the scale of this question. While studying at the university, I learned a lot about air pollution, and that's so scary to understand that what we breath... |

No real personal regrets. I did my best on the assumption that people would decide not to destroy the climate. My life is wasted so far, but I'm glad I tried to use my talents for good. I wish I'd learned about the difference between IQ and EQ much earlier, and that the Dunning-Kruger theory had com... |
