interesting. Maybe you can post an example here.

Here's another - still not the absolute worst - maybe those have been upgraded.

I'm generally poor at organization, but I laid a floor from hardwood shorts that were all sorted by colour to avoid a brick-like look. I put a dark spot under the dining table, and had red, yellow, and white areas blending together. I think I'm more prone to making lists than average, and I know tha...

I sensed something was "off" in my family and started going to meetings of Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families, a 12-step group that evolved from groups affected by the behaviour of alcoholics. I was about 40 then, and had sampled a lot of groups and therapies by age 56 when my mother...

It occurs to me that I probably tried the wrong route to finding a NT partner. I thought that an independent demonstration of skill would get me job offers. I suspect that the aspies who find themselves integrated into an organization began by putting up with stupid situations until chance let them ...

If there was some symbol that would improve the odds of good communication with trained professionals, I'd consider it, but so far, any request for special consideration just inspires people to punish me if I "refuse" to conform. If the pros are hopeless, I assume the general public is as ...

I'd wear one to a medical convention or some place I was planning to do advocacy. Taking one home from an event to wear, as I do with many others is much less likely.

If this net isn't catching the fish you want, maybe have a look at John Rollwagen or Henry Royce. I assume that Seymour Cray and Mr. Rolls are/were aspie nerds who we would never have heard of without their business partners. I spent most of my life seeking one like those .

PS - the above incident built on another, when I thought there must be a logical flaw in my depressing reasoning, and my counsellor said she wasn't smart enough to find it.

I'm an old member, but maybe you have not heard that the single most helpful thing I ever heard from a counsellor was "I don't know." That's when I realized that I'd assumed that IQ and EQ varied together, when they are more often a case of either one or the other.

When I sleep, I cover my eyes with a black t-shirt (It came to me in a package deal, but I don't wear black) I like flannel if I'm not wearing night clothes, but at least one interface should slide fairly readily to avoid night tangles. Recently, I've added a 5-lb "heavy" blanket in a narr...

A married woman I knew who tried to mother me a bit had a daughter with Borderline.
A single woman I knew who was both attracted and repelled by me probably had an aspie ex.
My mother had AS, and mild narcissism.

I have never spent much time on clothes. I mostly buy them used now. However, when I was young, I had a maintenance job with uniforms supplied - no markings, just green shirt and pants. I saw no reason to change when I got home. Then came Halloween, and I wanted to dress up as a cowboy. I borrowed j...

Not the worst, but it fits the description. The script is pretty bad too.

^^ The background I hear now is not actually music, nor a series of chords intended to manipulate my mood as is often included in propaganda, but a repetitive pattern generated by a computer and scientifically designed to maintain interest and delay one's clicking off.

Rant of the hour: Too many clips on YouTube have robot narrators with totally predictable speech mannerisms and a general inability to pronounce abbreviations correctly. Too many of the others now have synthetic "background" music to trick us into thinking the talk is more interesting than...

No, it is just some useful information to take into account. It enables my special interests, but is not as interesting itself.
