I see myself more like a teachers pet than a nerd because I have always worked very hard on my school/university/professional work, and have always been more interested in that than stereotypical nerdy stuff like Star Trek or dungeons and dragons.

I know it can be tough to get into the software industry, but have hope. These days there are many different software jobs, in many different types of companies. If you haven’t been successful so far, don’t let it knock your confidence, there is still a lot of opportunity out there because every job...

My least favourite vegetables are parsnips. Boring root vegetables which are a bit like carrots but somehow worse tasting. I will eat them, but they are my least favourite part of Christmas dinner.

I feel like I would definitely have got the answer wrong if asked in an interview situation. I’ve always felt I have a bias towards system 2 thinking, but the downside is that it makes me feel very stressed because I am used to people answering maths questions much quicker than me, and that leads to...

I have a lot of different beliefs from my partner, including different political views. I think what works for us is to be curious about each others viewpoints. I try to ask questions and just listen to what they have to say for as long as possible without agreeing or disagreeing. It is always tempt...

Used car salesperson
I am an introvert and the social interaction would burn me out completely. I am also very straightforward and honest and trying rip people off to make a profit would make me very uncomfortable. also I just don’t like cars/driving.

It isn’t important to me personally. I am so high functioning I don’t need practical support, so the health service cannot really help me. It is emotional support and connection that I need, and I can get that by connecting with like minded people (for example here on Wrong planet), or by paying for...

I can relate to the article. When I was quite young, I was completely obsessed with football (soccer), because it was the main game played in the playground that had clear rules. I didn’t care or notice that I was the only girl taking part at my school, I just really got into the game. I lost the ob...

For me, it just makes me feel incredibly lonely, as it’s a reminder that people in general don’t understand my inner experience. It’s a sad, empty feeling when people cant see you for who you really are, and just judge what’s on the surface. I think if the person saying “you’re not autistic” could s...

Spent years trying to put my finger on how my brain worked differently from other people, then I read a book called “a field guide to earthlings” by Ian Ford and suddenly it all made sense. It’s a very black and white book that seems to patronise NTs a lot, so some of it should be taken with a grai...

I would uninvent social media. It has all sorts of problems with privacy, addictiveness, toxic content, being bad for kids etc. For social media I only use Reddit which I find better than the rest due to being anonymous and the content being categorised. I've read this book "The Chaos Machine:...
