I hate phone calls too. I don't get anxious so much as just try and avoid them all together. My wife constantly tries to get me to call my family and friends, but I try and get out of it any way I can, hehe. Sometimes I don't mind them if I'm discussing a common interest, but eventually I find mysel...

As others may have said, this sounds exactly like Depersonalisation Disorder. It is a form of Dissociation.

I strongly recommend seeing a movie called 'Numb'. It should be available at your local video store. It deals, very specifically with Depersonalisation.

I couldn't care less about song lyrics. I couldn't care less if the world ended and I was the only one alive, it actually sounds ideal. I couldn't care less if you forgot my birthday I couldn't care less about cleaning, or dolling the house up if people are coming over. I couldn't care less if peopl...

Hey guys and girls. As Aspie's, we tend to be quite indifferent towards things in life that people would normally have an emotional attachment to. Here is the post for putting them down! hehe I'll get a rolling start going: I couldn't care less about what you did today if a TV show I like is on. I c...

Here are some things I have been told: GP / Doctor who has patients with AS: "You don't have Asperger Syndrome as you have developed a meaningful relationship to the extent of marriage. You don't have Aspergers because you are married." Psychologist who isn't specialised, is a nice guy, but has met ...

This in many ways exactly what is going on with me also. My wife thinks there is nothing wrong with me, my GP said I couldn't have AS because I was married, my Psychologist thinks I only have anxiety and thinks people with AS are messed up. I've contacted an AS specialist, however i'm scared to book...

I think this is fantastic, though it may not appear so to some outsiders or NTs - A thread about how un-ambitious we are. I think it is fantastic because we are finding we are not alone, as well as we are finding out what we do love, and that its ok to not be ambitious or be in the upper echelon of ...

Its good to see I'm not alone. I also worry about getting to my farm, and realising that I don't want to be alone. Which I guess is good, because it keeps me in check and stops me from potentially making a bad decision. Part of my problem, as well, is, I'm pretty good at almost anything I do, or put...

I'm finding more and more, that I seem to get uninspired often. That even though I should be working on my resume to get a graphic design job, that will allow me to do what I love for work, and further progress to eventually create my own graphic design firm, I will get depressed in a way, think i'm...

I hit things and get very loud, violent and completely lose control. Crying at the same time. My wife says I scare her when I get like that. Sometimes when I'm having a meltdown, I will corner her in a room and just shout at her and not let her leave. Then she'll say I'm scaring her, and I'll then s...

I also feel sick when anything unexpected happens that impacts on me. I've never had an anxiety attack, I don't think, but I'm finding i'm getting more anxious as I grow older. However as someone else said here, I think it is the combination of my anxiety and my marriage. I have a heavy pressure on ...

This will sound terrible, but I think my AS / Anxiety makes making important life decisions difficult if not almost impossible. I won't get into any issues, directly but here's a hypthetical example that symbolises what I'm getting at: You're in the wrong class at school. Most of the time, its avera...

I'm currently reading this book, as my wife and my mum think it might solve or assist in our marriage difficulties. Reading it, I get frustrated at how stupid it sounds to me. A woman says "We're never happy" and apparently means "i'm not happy at the moment and I would really like a hug from you to...

I'm a photographer and don't have any qualifications, i've done amateur and professional photography, so I can say one thing if you decide to pursue a career in photography. Most of your problems will come from directing people. For me, the anxiety of communication and "putting people out" made coor...
